My favorite Vietnamese restaurant, even though they are kind of cheap with the Vietnamese coffee, filling the cup with crushed ice. But I won’t even knock them down a star for that, just because the rest of the food is good. But it’s kind of sad that I don’t buy their coffee anymore because of it. I don’t want to pay all that money for a coffee, and then after four sips it’s gone.
We usually get the barbecue sandwiches, the large soup, and a combo barbecue platter. I kind of wish they would open the seating for indoor dining, but they are still only take away as of this date.
Anyway, nice place, lots of parking, and the best Vietnamese food on Oahu. Hint, some of the employees don’t speak English very well, so I’ve gotten into the habit of asking them repeating the order to me, or even writing it down and giving it to them, because I’ve had my order messed up several times from them not understanding me, but that’s not a big deal. If you want real authentic food, that’s just something you have to deal with. Believe me, no one wants to eat Vietnamese food made by white people, lol...
Read moreFinally, phó in Salt Lake. This place is located in Stadium Mall. I'm glad that this place opened, since Stadium Mall is mostly fast food places and the closest phó places are in Aiea or Kalihi.
The prices and and portions are comparable to other phó places. They have all your basics that you'd find at a Vietnamese place.
I really like their spring rolls. They are crispy and the inside has a good meat flavor. It's hard to find a good spring roll.
Their summer roll is good too, pretty standard compared to other places but their peanut sauce is really good. It's not super thick and has more flavor than the usual peanut sauce.
The phó soup base is not watered down and has a good beefy flavor. Their phó come in small, large and x-large. The portions are pretty standard. My boyfriend and I usually get a couple of appetizers and share a large phó or an XL phò and an appetizer.
They do have vegan options here as well.
Definitely some good Vietnoms here
It's time for some phó. Make sure you get some rolls too. Good...
Read moreMy second time here. First time was during pandemic. I had a lemon grass chicken bánh mì it was okay. Second time here having lunch with my mother, dining in reopened. Mom ordered lemon grass chicken plate and I ordered lemon grass beef plate. Both of our food were served old like it was left overs from the day before. The rice was old and there was clumps of hard old rice, first time I ever got served old rice, usually the jasmine rice is fresh and really good, our lemon grass chicken and beef was old also the onions tasted spoiled. It sucks because their sauce is actually good but they served us old food. We didn't finish our food. I noticed everyone around me ordered phở so I assume the phở here is popular. Be sure to request for fresh food! I wish we told them our food was bad. I think this restaurant should be inspected by Hawai'i department of Food safety because they are...
