Went in yesterday to get a simple trim just from the bottom of my short hair. I chose this place because the advertised price was $25 for that service. I grew up in a hair school and was a hairstylist for years so my opinion is professional. First, she insisted on needing to straighten my hair with a flat iron that was set on the highest setting and my hair was smoking for a long time after she took iron off and I could smell it burning. The wisest thing to do was to simplify wet it and just trim it off. I asked her to do this but she insisted on using the flatiron because it was the only she is able to get it even, she stated. Would have saved us both so much time and not damage my hair. Finally she was done and tried to charge me $50 saying that all her advertising and signs in the store are before COVID and the price is double now.
