I am a longtime fan of La Tour Cafe Their breads and pastries are always delicious and I am so thrilled for the owners to see their goods available in Whole Foods and Foodland Farms grocery markets, ABC stores, etc. Monday 5/16/22 I ordered a wagyu melt sandwich and garlic fries for dinner. I was really disappointed in their recent service. I called the restaurant to place a take out order at 6:23pm on a week day. I was met with a sassy tone and was asked by the cashier 1. If I knew where the restaurant is located 2. If I knew that the restaurant closes at 7pm 3. Upon my request for water to drink with my meal, I was told that only bottled water was available to me I wanted to give the cashier fella the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he was having a bad day.. that's okay, we all have those. I get it. However, when I got to the restaurant at 6:40pm this same cashier was also sassy in person (attitude , facial expressions and tone of voice). I learned that there was other water available for me from the soda fountain for $0.52 a cup. When I finally did get my food at 6:50pm, my request "no cheese on my melt/sandwich" was granted but somehow I was missing other ingredients from my order (no jalapenos , which I was looking forward to) The food was lackluster and I wouldn't order either of these items again. Garlic Fries: too much butter, taste very rich, filling and fatty (not in a positive way) Wagyu Melt: (ordered it without cheese) somehow mines didn't come with jalapenos. Too much butter. Service 2 of 5 Food 2 of 5 Disappointed and will look for my sandwich + fries fix elsewhere. *I rarely write negative reviews but this one felt deserving

Due to pandemic they are probably not at their best. May want to wait till they can get back to normal. During my visit the whole modified menu was not available. I tried ordering a pizza to be told they stopped making it. This I found odd since few minutes later a customer picks up their pizza order. I ordered a panini but it took awhile. This was around 4:30. From what I can gather everyone was getting ready to close at 7pm. The oven must be a fire hazard to leave it hot so cool down must begin early. As for the food it wasn’t what I expected. It looked like a sandwich bread with something in between as filling. I ended up after a bite throwing it out. Once again it must be the pandemic so please go there with limited enthusiasm. For under $20 it would have been better spent elsewhere. It should be noted that the business does not take cash which I personally found strange since credit card usage involves additional charges by the credit card companies. Anyhow, I will wait to try their food and service another year or two.

I came here for the first time mostly because of their macaron options but decide to get a full lunch. I ordered the French dip which wasn’t very large but still filling (it probably isn’t the greatest French dip in the world but I don’t exactly expect much when ordering this sandwich for anywhere) I also ordered the garlic pomme frites which I very much enjoyed how crispy they are. Obviously they’re garlic so your breathe will smell rank but who cares right? I ordered the la tour iced coffee which is comes already with cream and sweetened. I really liked it because it was just right (not too sweet), of course I got the butter mochi Kouign-amann which tastes exactly as you’d expect (bomb!) very sticky though! And last but not least, I ordered the Cinnamon Toast Crunch macaron which lived up to its name. Very on point. Overall I was very satisfied with my meal, I had nice interactions with the staff and found everything very tasty. Needless to say, I’d totally go back. 👍👍👍

Reason behind a ONE STAR:

  1. We were rushed to sit down when we were the only one in the store and was looking to purchasing loafs of bread. 2) We asked for the suggestion of the top 2 burgers and ordered them, only to be rung up for 2 of the same burgers!

What was suppose to be a "Happy Aloha Friday" and a beautiful day to "Celebrate my Grandmother's Birthday" ended up being the complete opposite.

A long day worth of bad luck we wanted to end our day with food! My grandmother told me about this delicious burger her sister spoke so highly of from La Tour Cafe. As it has been a very long time since we've dined in we were excited to pay a visit and try the burger for ourselves.

Upon arrival, the Cafe was empty. We've seen a young lady at the Register who greeted us. We asked her what were the Top 2 Popular Burgers she said, La Tour Burger and Bacon Jalapeño Cheddar. Our response was we'll take both! As she rung us up she mentioned for us to scan the QR Code prior to sitting. I acknowledged and paid for the Order. While standing at the register on display were various loaf of breads and my grandmother was explaining which was good. While we were looking at the showcase of bread we were considering which one to choose from to take home. As my grandmother was talking to me, the young lady interrupts us and points to the QR Code on the table. Remind you, the Restaurant wasn't busy, in fact we were the only one in there at that time. My grandmother and I felt rushed to sit down and weren't able to choose the loaf we wanted to get. With the sense of urgency from the young lady we walked over, scanned the code and sat down. While waiting for our food I had her open her gifts since we hadn't had a chance to. By the time we finished our burgers arrived.

Now getting our food we were getting excited to indulge! We halfed the 2 burgers to share and compare. While observing the burgers, they looked very much similar but went ahead and tried one half. The first half we thought to believe was the La Tour Burger and it was absolutely ONO! Now onto the next half... Bit into it and it was the same burger we tried 1st! We ordered the top 2 burgers to sample and were rung up for 2 of the same!

Again what was suppose to be a very special day for my grandmother's birthday ended up being very disappointing and frustrating!

On my receipt states Server Aleisza, who may have taken our order but hadn't listened carefully. Either it was the same young lady or different one that rushed us to the Table for dining in.

We received an Order we didn't feel satisfied with. We left the Restaurant exhausted and disappointed. Lesson learned.... Never trust the order taker to get your...

I’m impressed with this location. After several unpleasant visits to their Kapolei location, I was still left with a wanting for their Phoggie. So I stopped here on a whim on one of my treks back from town. There were several people waiting around so I asked them if I were to order a Phoggie about how long would it be. The cashier verified and told me 5-10 mins. I was skeptical, but she said they could do it.

So I ordered and waited. While I was waiting, the cashier told me that she saw that she over charged me and needed my credit card to process the return. I was blown away that she caught it and told me about it, so thorough!

Less than 10 mins from ordering I was walking out of there with my food.

I couldn’t wait, so I started eating my food as my husband drove home. My sandwich was perfection. The flavors were all there and the bread was crispy but soft. It was just like when I first had that sandwich. Just pure perfection and ecstasy.

I was impressed with this place. Great customer service with that awesome catch on the overcharge on my bill. Quick service as I was out of there in less than 10 min and the food was on point, despite the short wait time.

I will definitely add this place to my go-tos when I am in...
