Me and two of my friends were in the process of furniture shopping when we happened to see Homeworld right across the parking lot from Ashley's furniture store. Never been to this furniture store before so we all decided to see what they had. As soon as we enter the store we immediately felt judged. We only had one employee asked if we needed any help finding a particular furniture while the rest of the employees within the store just stared at us as if we were going to steal...what? Furniture? I mean really? Additionally, that same employee kept following us until one of my one friend acknowledged his presence and I guess he got scared because we noticed him keep following us, so he finally left us alone. I am a black woman. The friends that was with me were one black male and one Filipino male. I do not like to use the race card but it felt that way when one older asian women employee (cannot recall her name) came up to us asking if we needed any assistance and my friend was explaining to her that he was looking for a statement piece and she IMMEDIATELY told us about the "clearance" section. She never mentioned any other section of the store besides the clearance section which to us was very strange. To our shock, it felt as though she believed we were too "poor" to afford the regular priced furniture? Again, I am not sure if she was judging us based on our skin tone or how we dressed, BUT either way, it should not matter and we thought it was highly rude of her to insinuate we were looking for the clearance section.    Read moreWhile walking from my car to the entrance of store at your Beretania location I tripped and fell from an uneven sidewalk. Two customers exiting the store assisted me to get to my feet. Not one of your employees who I could see thru the windows came out to assist. Although my injuries were not life threatening, I entered your store with a few scratches and a superficial cut on my right baby finger, where I was meant by a sales person name Al.asked Al if there was a bathroom I couldâ wash up and a bandaid to cover my bleeding finger. It took Al several minutes to locate something for fistaid assistant. I was never shown a bathroom. Al later returned and said there was no bandaids around. A clerk found some gauze and tape to stop bleeding. In the meantime other salesmen kept saying âWe saw it all on cameraâ. If this is so, why didnât anyone come out to assist? I continued my business, with Alâs assistance. Al notified me that the manager on duty said âif I bought something delivery would be waived. Not once did I see or met the manager on duty. I did purchase a recliner, but today 10/13/2019, I went back to your store and cancelled my purchase. It would have been nice if someone had followed up by a simple call or email to see that they cared about the customer and they well being. I have no intention or interest in pursuing any legal action, but actions by persons at this store showed little compassion.    Read moreIâve downgraded my original 5-star review to 1 star because of a terrible experience with their second delivery team. They damaged the freshly painted walls and trim in my home, and the new, very expensive bed frame they delivered. They refused to reinstall the mattress they took off and moved to another room on the bed frame they removed and replaced. When I called and spoke to a manager, they told me, âItâs out of our hands because we use a third-party delivery service.â My salesperson explained that he wanted to help but couldnât because his hands were tied, and basically, the company he works for couldnât care less about doing the right thing.
Hereâs the thing: they charged me a premium for this delivery and setup service. Theyâre the most expensive place to buy furniture in Hawaii, and theyâre supposed to be prestigious, but they donât stand behind their âoutsourced deliveryâ people. Donât pay for their delivery and setup; hire another company to come do it. This place overcharges and just points the finger at other people who arenât taking responsibility for their actions. Please take your hard-earned money elsewhere and donât support this very wealthy corporation who could care...
