We had a great experience shopping at Haverty's in Riverchase. Raul helped us so patiently the whole time, and we were there for several hours trying to decide what pieces would look good together. The decorator (can't remember her name) was very helpful to us as well. We knew we wanted a sofa but weren't sure what we wanted to go with it - love seat or chairs. The decorator steered us toward a settee, which I would never have thought of on my own but was perfect for the way I wanted to mismatch my pieces. All I knew was that I didn't want a living room full of large, leather furniture. Beyond that, I didn't know how to accomplish the eclectic look I was going for. The decorator helped me put it all together effortlessly. I went from very unsure about my goals for my living room to very excited about the future outcome during my visit to Haverty's.
In today's online shopping world, I am very thankful to have a store like Haverty's with such a good selection of furniture on the floor. You cannot replace the peace of mind you gain by sitting on the furniture you're about to buy to see how it feels. I had done lots of online shopping prior to my visit to the store to determine which sofas I thought I wanted to focus on. However, my top choice online ended up being the least comfortable of all the sofas I tested that day. And the most comfortable sofa, the one we ended up buying, was one I had skipped right over online. Raul helped open my mind by explaining that each sofa group could be configured in various ways, so you don't have to get it the way it looks in the pictures or on the floor. This made a huge difference to me because if it hadn't been for the showroom, or Raul, I would not have bought the best sofa for our needs.    Read moreDON'T BUY ANY FURNITURE FROM HAVERTYS!! I purchased a beautiful dinette set. Spent 1,400.00 on it with 6 dining room chairs. The finish on the table was already starting to come off, so Havertys came out and repaired it. But it continued to deteriorate, as time went on, and after owning the table and chairs for 3 years, I called them to repair the table top and the backs of the chairs, because the finish had come off, and the white wood was showing. They told me to contact guardsman, with whom I had the 5 year warranty with. So I did. And filled out their online form. If it wasn't new damage, they wouldn't come out. But there was new damage as well. After a couple of weeks, a rep from guardsman came out, took pictures of the table and chairs, and told me I would get a call in about a week and a half. Well, they never called me. So I had to go online and find their number, and call them, and they said it would be a couple of weeks or so, before they would get back with me. They never did, I waited and after more than a month later, I finally was able to talk withis someone, and she told me, that my damage was normal wear and tear and they don't repair normal wear and tear. If I dropped a bomb on it or abused it and broke the table in half, they would probably fix it. I was livid. Why purchasee a warranty if it's no good??? So I called Havertys back, and they told me they would try to get it fixed, and would get back in a week or so. 2 weeks later they called to tell me, there was nothing they could do. DON'T BUY THEIR FUTNITURE, IT'S JUNK!!! LOOKS PRETTY, BUT COMES FROM CHINA OR SOME POOR COUNTRY, DO THE QUALITY IS NOT GOOD, AND THE GUARDSMAN WARRANTY IS EVEN WORSE!!!! It doesn't work!!! She checked several furniture stores and settled on a beige leather model at Havertys. She brought me along to check it out. I really liked it, and it didnât hurt it was among the less expensive of the ones she looked at.

The salesman told us that only delivered to our part of town on Saturdays so we set up delivery up for the next Saturday. We also asked the salesman to have the delivery people move our existing couch to our basement. In preparation for the delivery we moved the furniture in our living room so that the delivery people would have no problem bring the new couch. However, delivery folks never showed up that Saturday. My wife called Havertys and found that the salesman never set up the delivery. So we had to move the furniture back and then back again when the couch was delivered the next weekend.
When the couch was delivered I told The delivery guys that Iâd arrange for them to bring the old couch down to the basement. They said they normally didnât do that, but they went ahead and did that anyway after they determined they wouldnât be difficult. . I really appreciate that because we couldnât manage it on our own.
