I love HomeGoods! Just wanted to be sure everyone hears that. Going to shop can be a great experience, or it is stressing. I don't think there is an in-between. On weekends, my wife and I will go " window shopping". Not really looking to buy, but getting ideas when we are ready to purchase. Unfortunately, we usually buy something because the variety, uniqueness, and price are too good to pass up. The furniture, rug, and kitchen sections are our favorites. Which brings me to the stress part. Certainly most of you reading this( if you made it this far) have occasionally been in the store, seen the selections, and at some point been invited to a party requiring a gift. Or maybe it's time for dirty Santa gifts. Thinking to yourself, you say..... I know HomeGoods has it! I saw it! It would be perfect! Well, let me tell you something. DON'T, .... Do what I did last time I shopped at HomeGoods. I saw an item weeks or months before, decided I wanted to get it, and went to buy it. I knew exactly where it was located in the store. No problem. In and out of store quickly. Sorry. No. Not the case. I spent 30 minutes looking and stressing. Could not find it, or anything like "it" anywhere. Now my stomach is acting up. As a last resort, I asked one of the people stocking shelves if they had the item I was looking for. Immediately, and with a smile and a sense of urgency, said" Yes. Come on". She went right to it. Then she said they had different sizes of item I wanted on other side of store. I told her this was perfect. My point is........ If it's not where you saw it last time, don't stress and meander aimlessly through the store. Just ask . All of them seem to know where everything is. This store is constantly getting new stuff all the time and they have to put some things in a different place. Now I understand. And thanks to HomeGoods for having great selections and quality products. Most of all, thank you for the great...
Read moreI came into this store on 08-03-2023 The cashier from the start was full of attitude and just seemed like she did not want to be there, or help me check out. She tried to pitch the credit card, and I told her I already had it. This upset her, and she tried to convince me to apply for it again in case It was expired, which I said no, and she got even more upset. She attempted to wrap up all my items, again she did not seem like she wanted to even do that, and did a poor job at wrapping up the fragile items. Using only one sheet of thin paper and throwing it all in the bag. We then left the store right when the storm started put the bags in the car and drove off, on the way home one of the items got broken because of the poor wrapping and bagging of the item. I returned to the store the next day and talked to a different cashier which accused me of lying and said I dropped and broke the item. The cashier called the manager, which the manager came up and refused to do a return or an exchange even though I showed how poorly wrapped it was and that it only had one sheet of paper, she stated that is all they are required to use is one sheet and they aren't required to tape the paper on it to prevent items from rolling out and breaking while in transit. Honestly, they could have just said no and I would have left, it was only 10 dollars, but the cashier was rude and accused me of lying, and instantly called the manager, which I did not even ask for the manager, she just did it on her own.
When I was in retail, we always were told to provide exceptional customer service, and I have done returns that could have been iffy on thousands of dollars worth of product. It's unfortunate how they act at this store for a 10 dollar product when I have spent hundreds of dollars in the store on every trip. I will not be shopping at...
Read moreThe WORST customer service I HAVE EVER experienced. Meredith and Chris (maybe short for Crystal) were the WORST most UNPROFESSIONAL mangers I have EVER experienced. How are they even managers? I called to ask about an item and they both had extremely bad attitudes. When I called the first time Meredith answered being extremely rude. I asked if they had certain bedsheets. She had the nastiest attitude saying “ we have all type of stuff we are short staffed come see yourself”. You’re short staffed so you can’t answer a simple question??? I then tried to emphasize with her saying that I understand and she was still RUDE!!! Saying “I have a line to worry about ” and hung up in my face. When I called back to voice my complaint I asked to talk to the other manager (who was Chris) who EVEN MORE RUDE!!! She interrupted my complaint and said “What is your actual reason for calling” and that she basically doesn’t care about her staff talking to me poorly to sum up the conversation. She also elevated her voice and tone. These two just don’t need to be working retail at all let alone being managers. Working a job not in customer service is my advice to both of the rude employees.
I will be contacting cooperate. They both answered the phone aggressively before I even said hello. It doesn’t matter if you’re short staffed you don’t get to be rude to people. Don’t pull that stuff on me. I’ve worked retail too. I’ve worked a store by MYSELF before. Never once was I...
