Monday 3/29 was my birthday.,.
We go down, hearing so much about the food from others I was excited to try it, and celebrate my birthday there.
IT started GREAT The hostess was ABSOLUTELY great. We chatted, she told me the story of the yellow bicycle and wished me a happy birthday. Later she came to check on us. She was great I wish I had got her name.
She seats us saying something about the server being one of the better. So I got even more excited.
After walking by us about 7-8 times without a word I think hmmm.
Just as I complete my thought, Kristen (our server) turns from the table next to us and says I will be right with you okay. I think okay maybe this will be as I expected.
No!!! She was SOOOO RUDE that I left baffled. upset and thought of calling management.
They were out of what I chose to order so I said oh okay let me look for a different option. To which she yelled well you better hurry up you have eight minutes.
I said, "I don't understand, why eight minutes"? She then announced we close in eight minutes. I looked at my mother and her face was as furrowed as mine. Mom mouthed I called, and I thought I Googled.
Being fully aware that Covid has changed things, I said, "someone called and got a recording". I Googled, and both said that closing was 9 pm. She said, "yeah that was pre-Covid".
I looked at her and apologized. told her we double-checked and didn't know. Then I thought is this why she's being so rude.
I mean how are we/customers suppose to know the new hours when the website and recording both say 9 pm?
The recording and Google need to be updated. Especially if it will prevent people from being treated so poorly.
First, it took her 28 minutes to even come to the table. When we got our food she was placing it on the table hard without a word but the action spoke volumes.
She got mad when Mom asked for dressing for her dry slaw. I excused her behavior by saying it's late, she's tired they're closing,
I then hear her tell the table next to us to have a blessed night. She never said anything to us. Slid the check on the table and walked away. I tried everything to engage her she was just rude, and being tired doesn't excuses her Rudeness and its NEVER okay to treat people that way.
I thought about it all night and the next day and the day after I have faced rude behavior, but that topped them all!!!
*The food was good with the exception of the seafood gumbo, it tasted more like greek...
Read morePrivileged Guests gets more respect than regulars or first timers! Discriminatory comes in many ways..... my dining experience was the worst of all times. For starter I am a regular at this location, but to see how the owner treated her employee and allowed her bar manager treat another guest because there's a couple that knew her personally that initially came into the eatery rude about how much wine they should have been given. The employee explained very kindly and respectful that she had to comply to alcohol regulation and she poured according, they demanded more... she tried to explain so it went where she offered for management to explain that's when the guy said very rudely and shouting "No get the owner I know her personally"... the female owner came out and explained then grabbed the wine graft to show but the owner (went against alcohol regulation) and poured more wine into both the wine glasses to satisfy the friends of hers. For some reason our bar tender was sent home right afterwards which I knew that her shift wasn't ended that soon it's not quite 8p. besides she would have said something about someone else will be handling us (me and my guest) her shift ends or something to the effect that she's done with the shift. We'll a little while later another guest arrived sitting at the bar and he was on his phone I guess but we couldn't hear him and the same rude couple wife apparently told him to shush like he was too loud in a library. The guy told her quickly this is not a library I have the right to talk on my phone at the bar... then her husband tried to interject with rudeness instead of leaving it alone and address his wife...so words was exchanged the guy apparently is a frequent guest but the bar manager address only the guy about his conversation instead of addressing both the couple. Favoritism to the privilege rude couple because he told the guy they will put him out of restaurant. In a nutshell. The guy left and the rude couple did shortly. But owners as well as managers should make all people feel valued no matter if they work for you and complying to regulation and rules, and those who chose to dine at your establishment where they could have patronized your competitors and other establishment. This makes me revisit where I spend my financial with. By the way the employee were African American, the priviliege couple were Caucasian as well as the other guest were Caucasian. We should live to be fair and equal. I don't see color but I do see...
Read moreThis WAS my favorite restaurant. My family and I eat here approximately twice a month and for all special occasions. I went in on today after placing the order over the phone. I was informed it would take 15 to 20 minutes. So when I went in for my order they did not have record of it. So I placed the order again, food came out rather fast in approximately 10 minutes. I had a 6:15pm appt to attend to and was short on time, hence ordering ahead. I began to eat the food. The food tasted wrong, the fish to be specific. It’s very hard to say but it was almost as if the fish has not been cleaned properly. There was a tinge to the fish. I immediately called to alert them and was advised by management that something was not right. I was advised that 40 platters had been served and not one complaint and that the order was checked prior to giving it to me. This female owner refused to listen and lacked any sort of accountability. She kept saying the same thing when I asked what is the solution. I asked for a refund and was told that they can send a gift card or make the food again. This offer was not offered until several rows around the mountain. I accepted. After a couple minutes my stomach began to hurt and I had a liquid bowel movement. I called the company again and advised that I just want a refund because of having a bowel movement-LIQUID! . I advised I would be returning the food. I was advised okay to bring back for a refund. I went back and the so call manager/owner ANGELO tried to say that most of the food had been eaten which is a lie. He began to try to explain that the fish was not bad. I advised that if he smells the bag you can smell the tinge on the fish. This was not immediately noticeable as the fish was fried. To which he refused. So he begins to attempt to bait me. At this point it is a mute point to explain to him as common sense is not common these day so I advised that he can’t tell me whether the fish was bad, but it has never tasted like that before and my stomach let me know it was off. “Owner” Angelo advised that my response was not serving me and refused to refund the order and attempted to retain my receipt. I will follow up with notifying the Department of Health and my doctor regarding my concerns. I would not recommend eating here based on the lack of accountability, lack of customer service as well as the food was horrible. Good luck if you feel so inclined to dine at this subpar...
