Absolutely DONE with Walgreens. I have been a loyal customer for years. I even used another Walgreens when I lived in another area and wanted to continue to use them so I had everything transferred to the Hopewell location. Things went fine at first and I was happy with service. I’m not sure what happened but things have changed dramatically. About a month ago, my mother used the drive-thru and wasn’t given her license back. After searching, she called to see if it was there. She was told very rudely by someone in pharmacy that she gave my mother her license back and that she should check. She had checked, even in the envelope and it WAS NOT there. Then she was told she must have left it in the return carrier. That was also checked and not there. About fifteen minutes later, someone else from the pharmacy called and told my mother that it was found on the desk and if she would like to pick it up! She was told my an Assistant Manager, Kevin that it would be kept somewhere safe for her. Next day, I go in to pick it up for her as she wasn’t feeling well. I told an associate that her license was there and that Kevin said it would be waiting. She comes back no longer than three minutes to tell me she can’t find it and that my mother should check at home! I tell her that it IS there and I was not leaving until I had it. She rolls her eyes and goes back to the pharmacy. After several minutes of waiting, she returns with the license that she said wasn’t there. My mother has now changed pharmacies to Hometown Drug and is very happy. I continued my service with Walgreens since I had been using them for years and didn’t want to risk a hassle by switching. This brings us to today, the final straw. I had surgery this morning and was told that they would be ready by 2:30 since they were busy. I get that delays happen. I work in a hospital and can truly appreciate the hard effort put in by those in a delay, especially with the current virus outbreak. 2:30 rolls around and there is no notification that they’re ready. Then 3:00 comes and still nothing. I call in around 3:30 to find out what the status is. They hadn’t even begun to fill them!! I was told one medication had to be checked in with my doctor. Again, I get that. But some of these medications were ones I needed urgently due to my surgery. The lady on the phone was rude about the situation and only had to say, “We’re busy and there are a lot of orders in front of yours.” I am now past due for my pain medication and have been in great need of the nausea medicine that was turned in. Other medications turned in this morning were on a set schedule and needed to be taken. Again, she offered no help and just said there were other orders. She said they will be ready in 30 minutes then hangs up after no apology or anything. I call back to speak with a manager in the pharmacy and she informs me that she IS the manager. I ask what day another manager works so that I could talk to them. She informs me she is the lead manager for the pharmacy. Not sure how since her customer service is appalling. She then tells me in a rude tone that they are ready now, except for the one we had to wait for verification on. They were ready but no contact was made to tell me so. I then ask her how to have all of my prescriptions after today changed to another pharmacy. She explains it very hastily and again offers no apology. I’m sorry Walgreens, but after twelve long years, we must part ways. This location will not receive another red cent of my hard...
Read moreI love this Walgreens it's convenient for me it's right by my work and there is some great employees at work here. But there's only one issue I pick up the same prescription weekly almost the same day every week but there's always the same issue every week. Claim that my doctor has not left a message or a claim that my insurance needs pre-approval and we go over the same things every week.and I explain why it's being injected by my insurance and how the medicine is supposed to be put into the system and we go over the same thing every time.and there's a couple of people in the pharmacy that when you try to ask him or explain something they don't want to hear it.there's a young man that works in the back who is super nice and he always takes care of me and chantelie anytime I ask her or she sees me for some reason my prescriptions there or she can get it done but if it's not him or her it takes all day long to get my prescription that I get every week.I literally sat there today I came in at 1 the young lady told me that the pharmacist needed to check the voicemail and she would let me know something I sat in the chair until 10 minutes to 2 got back in line. For her to tell me we're still waiting for her to check the voicemail, well why didn't anybody tell me that I sat there and wasted my whole lunch when you could have said ma'am it'd be best if you just came back later.but it is a shock to me that the doctors can call something in the morning and it doesn't get filled until 5 or 6 at nightand I just don't understand if the same people are filling my prescriptions every week why do they not know how to run it correctly why is it always an issue all the time.I wouldn't come back to this pharmacy if it wasn't for that young man and Chantelie. And if I'm not in there for a prescription I'm in their spending quite a bit of money weekly.but when I called to find out when my prescription is ready and they say it's ready and I come up there and it's still not ready that's an...
Read moreFirst and foremost, I worked at a pharmacy for a long time and know all about how they function.
I will never go to this Walgreens ever again! They need a zero star rating. I called in a prescription refill; they said they sent the request to my doctor. I called both the doctor and Walgreens multiple times throughout the week. My doctor had sent multiple refills, one of them I was at the doctor's, and her nurse sent the refill order IN FRONT OF ME, but Walgreens said they never received them. I get a call after seven days that the prescription was ready, so I drove over to pick it up. At the window, the cashier tells me it will be over $100. My insurance doesn't charge me for prescriptions. Im then told they no longer carry my insurance, mind you, I take 14 medications a day, and Im always there to pick up something. I said I need to transfer my prescription to another pharmacy. So what does the staff at Walgreens do? They delete my medications on a holiday weekend when I have multiple health issues, including heart problems, a chronic pain disease, and a torn calf muscle. I went today to see what the issue was and was treated rudely by two cashiers and the pharmacist when it was their fault by deleting my prescriptions from the system. Thank God for the kind staff in Colonial Heights that helped me get an emergency supply to last until the doctor reopens on Tuesday. Kevin, a manager, is the only kind person in this store; they need a staff...
