I am a regular customer visiting the store minimum twice a week. Tonight while shopping in the produce section I saw a 2in cockroach Scurry across the floor and underneath the parsley. Although it wasn't on the food yet, it sure was startling to both myself and my daughters. Without wanting to cause a fuss I alerted the closest associate. Unfortunately I forgot his name because he was the only one who was helpful in tonight's encounter. I let him know what had happened and he said he would alert someone in the produce section and have them come talk to me. Minutes later I see him chasing behind a man who was clearly dressed as upper level management. The gentleman in management was quickly walking up the produce section with a temperature gauge testing the temperatures on all the vegetables I heard the associate tell the manager that I had seen a cockroach to which he completely ignored him. I then stopped the manager and asked if he had heard what the associate had just said to him. He looked at me dumbfounded and said "what did you need?" I told him what I had seen to which she replied "okay". And continued to go about gauging the temperature of the produce section. No apology. No thank you for alerting me. No oh my God that's disgusting and I will address that immediately. Just blew it off in an effort to make sure all the produce was at the right temperature ignoring the massive problem of a cockroach.
As a manager of a large successful retail business I am appalled at his indifference. I put back my produce as I felt his indifference to my complaint was probably indicative of the standard set in the whole produce department and potentially the whole store. As I searched for his name throughout the store each associate I came in contact with did not seem surprised that I had a concern with him they more just kind of shook their heads like "here's another one". He should mirror my disgust then assure me that he is going to address the problem immediately. He should then have asked for my email or my phone number so he could follow up with me and let me know what he was doing to rectify the situation. Cockroaches near open food is disgusting and until I have a full understanding of how that was addressed I will not be bringing my business there ever again. Also it should be noted that the shelves were nearly empty in the produce section. And everything looks...
Read moreI went to Giant this morning to get some fruit and lunch for work. I came back out to my car and it wouldn't open. I had the key but something inside my car door must have been broken. Two women (employees) from Giant cam out for 1 hour and helped me. Heather and Tara from Giant in Horsham, YOU ARE THE BEST!!! They let me borrow the WD-40 to try to unlock the car. After that was unsuccessful they helped me. I had to get inside my trunk with the knowledge that Heather had to get inside my back seat. But I literally have 12 cases of Girl Scout Cookies and a car seat in the back of my 2-door car!! It was crazy because I have claustrophobia and had to get into my crowded trunk to get inside to push the cases away and get the care seat unlocked. I was able to help a little but it didn't work. Heather called Tara out to assist and Tara also climbed into the back of my trunk numerous times to get it unlocked. She used this broom that I had and was literally half way inside my trunk. Heather suggested to call 911 and I did. Ofc. Costello and and other Officer who's name i didn't catch arrived and helped me . ( Her husband, I was told, is a firefighter for Horsham FD. They both came and assisted. The female officer was finally able to get my car open! The kindness and the professionalism for someone whom they didn't know was AMAZING! Horsham PD was very professional as well. They came and saved the day. It took an hour from initial lock out to getting back into my car. I am am very thankful for the help. THANK YOU Heather and Tara! You two were so very helpful and very kind. Tell your boss I said you to deserve a promotion and a raise! I am very happy to have gotten locked out at this store! From all the customers that came by to assist as well, I am eternally...
Read moreNot the best experience. Despite the cake being ordered ahead of time it wasn't ready when we arrived, they didn't have the flavors or colors we asked for (and they didn't call to ask what we'd like instead,) the person working in the bakery asked us to come behind the counter to pick out which of the two options they had available from the case (not what we asked for and it was uncomfortable for a non-worker to be asked to come into the bakery area itself,) and then the worker squeezed out the pictured writing real fast and sent us on our way.
Please know that I mean no hate or negativity. I was a grocery manager for years and helped out in the bakery. I know how hard it is, especially now with supply chain issues and how stressed and angry many customers have been over the last couple years. I do want, however, to share my honest experience, and while the people there were really nice, the cake process was not.
There should be an actual cake decorator (or someone who has had some training, at least) on hand or special orders should not be taken without letting the customer know that professional decorating isn't available at the time. We would have happily decorated with candles ourselves instead of this. Also, if an order is taken and the bakers discover that the requested cake/color/icing/etc isn't available, they should call and ask the customer what they would prefer instead. Supply issues happen all the time and I think most people would be understanding if a simple courtesy...
