I walked in the restaurant at 8pm on a Monday evening thinking of just ordering a single avacado roll because that's all I wanted to eat. There was not a single customer in the restaurant, the lady asked me to take seat at the table. I told her what I have having, and she asked "anything else", to which I said no that's all. After that she said that you better take that to go than, because "everything cost money". I asked her what do you mean, she said that there's a minimum of around $10 to sit and eat and my single roll would on my come up to $4.95 plus tax, and I quote she said it again "everything cost money". I told her it's ok and left. I understand that restaurants have over head cost which need to be covered, but when your restaurant does not have a single customer in it and you are willing to denie/provide a decent quality service to your only customer. Even though my order was small, it was still an order which would've increased the resuatrants daily revenue at the end of the night. I usually don't write reviews like this, but I couldn't believe what...
Read moreThis restaurant was mediocre in several ways. Classic Chinese dishes like sizzling beef were made okay, but certainly no better than other nearby Chinese restaurants in the same price range. Where this restaurant deviated in the negative was first - signature dishes like Peking duck had very sloppy flaws. While the duck was cooked quite alright, it was served with plain flour tortillas, which of course is very different than the traditional Chinese Peking duck pancakes it is supposed to be. One is heated with a flour taste while the proper version is much smaller and thinner and steamed. Tortillas are NOT Chinese. I took a picture but Google reviews doesn't seem to let you post.
Secondly, I found the service very mediocre. Especially after paying the bill we got some fortune cookies, but the expected desert or fruit that is common in other Chinese restaurant was not served to us. Although another table did seem to get some oranges. All in all it wasn't the worst place, but I am unlikely...
Read moreMy wife and daughter had take out about week ago and loved it. They raved so much, it wasn’t a hard sell for me to try it. We were going to eat in but bc of a time crunch we chose take out again. 100% definitely a winner. Food was awesome and price was really good for the quality AND quantity of food that we received. Our next visit is definitely going to be an eat in experience.
I loved the food, but I was even more impressed by the customer service. As we waited for our food, the owner greeted each and every take out customer by name and knew their order. He even made a joke when one customer didn’t have his regular order. I heard him ask about other family members, or neighbors and this was not just one or two take out customers, there had to be at least ten that came while we We’re eating for our food.
If you want great food and a great atmosphere, run don’t walk...
