My favorite little grocery store! I go to the gym next door and it's painfully convenient to just walk next door to shop here. I first ducked my head in about a year ago to see what Aldi is all about and I'm glad I did! Previously I had been shopping primarily at Kroger's but decided one day to do a grocery haul at Aldi's to see the price difference, quality, selection, etc. First off it's worth noting my Aldi's bill is roughly 60% of my Kroger bill. Seriously, the food here is EXTREMELY reasonably priced. I thought because I didn't recognize most of these brands that they might be of subpar quality but in reality they're fantastic! The cottage cheese for example, it's like $1.50 for a large container. At Walmart it's like $1.25, Kroger close to $2. The Walmart one is more liquid than cheese and the texture/taste is just, eating curdled water. The one from Aldi's doesn't have as much liquid in it, the curds are more consistent and you can tell it's more dense than the others. A few things I love about Aldi's aside from the price and the food is how the store is setup and laid out. It's not a large store, and your options are straightforward and to the point instead of having an entire aisle of bread, you get like 3 selections of each type of bread and that's it. The upside to this is there's no analysis paralysis, and you don't have to walk a whole warehouse worth of space to grab your essentials. The whole store is about 10 half length aisles in the middle with product also covering about 90% of the outer ring of the store. Straight and to the point. The products are left in their boxes and stacked on shelves that way, which makes it easier for shorter people to grab something instead of stacking everything on a regular shelf and having to climb and fish around for it. That's another thing: most grocery stores I go to I usually have several stockers in the way while I'm trying to shop thinking we care about how nice the soup is stacked on a shelf while the company wastes time and money doing so, passing that "luxury" on to us with raised pricing, here there might be one stocker for the whole store because all they do is pop a hole out of a box, throw it where it needs to go, and they get out of your way in an instant. That makes them stock insanely efficient, so chances are there's nothing in the back room instead of waiting for a stocker that has to put each individual can on the shelves and makes it look nice, it takes him an hour to tear through a cart but Aldi's will tear through a back room in an hour. I love it. On the note of efficiency, they have 5 registers and although I've never seen 5 cashier's, the 1 or 2 they have open are INSANELY quick. I have seriously never stood in line for more than 5 minutes. The staff is friendly, you always see the same 5 or 6 employees there long term which tells me Aldi's is taking good care of them and they enjoy what they do. I can't say enough about this place, go try it out, don't forget to take your quarter for the shopping cart and your reusable bags, try it and trust me you'll...
Read moreI shop here all the time with no issues except today, June 16, 2023; I went inside the store with my shopping cart, picked some items, stopped at the meat section, and as soon as I picked up the chicken, another one was on the edge of the bottom shelf, and it fell. An employee yelled at me, are you going to pick it up I told him no, I didn't cause the frozen chicken to fall. So rude. It's his job to pick up, not mine; generally, if I caused anything to fall off the self, I would pick up, but this time, I didn't. So rude it ruined my shopping trip. He harassed me by yelling at me instead of doing his job. The Cashier ( John) told me not to put the divider and put my stuff down because the customer in front of me had lots of things that I had never experienced before today. The Cashier( John) always rushed other people and me to pay before even transaction finished. I don't know what is happening with this store today, but the employees were rude today—a horrible experience. I talked with the manager, and he apologized, but it didn't matter. Their employees disrespected and mistreated me because of an item that fell on the floor. I must bring my husband on the next trip because I no longer feel safe going in alone. The employee that disrespected and yelled, his name was Zach. I have seen plenty of other customers come in and mess the whole shelf up and drop lots of merchandise on the floor, and I never heard their employees yell or scream at them, only picking on me because I'm female and alone. This store location does not have a family atmosphere. Their parking lot is horrible. I did get harassed by a couple of strangers in the parking lots asking for money and food. I will have to find a different location to shop where I'm being appreciated as a customer...
Read moreAldi has been my all time favorite store and I spend lots of money at the Sienna/Highway 6 location where I reside. However today, I was shopping at 3938 North Shepherd Drive, Store # 77 on 8/9/25 to pick up a few items for my aunt. My wife stayed in the car while I retrieved the items. I noticed while I was shopping, there was a security guard (black female with blond hair braids) following me. Initially I didn't think anything of it until my wife came into the store while I went back out to the car to get my wallet. My wife stayed with the basket and as I exited the store the female security guard stopped me and ask me if I was going to pay for the groceries that I left in the basket. She basically assumed that I had left the basket, stuffed items in my clothes, and was trying to leave the store without paying. She did not see me stuff items in my clothes nor did she see that my wife was in the store with my basket continuing to shop. She basically profiled me. And when I attempted to speak to the manager (Tyrone), he was very dismissive. He stated that she was contracted through a third party and whatever their protocol consists of, they have nothing to do with it. So now it seems that Aldi approves of their security guards profiling their black customers because when my wife went over to speak with the security guard, she stated that this was a strict store because of thefts, therefore, they watch EVERYBODY. But I did not see her following other NON-BLACK customers around the store. Also, there was another black female customer there who told me that she had a bad experience with this same black female security guard. I felt disrespected, profiled, and my concerns ignored by management. I do not spend money where I am not valued and where I...
