My daughter and I went in to paint one day. After we started painting, we were told that it would be roughly a week before we could pick up our items, but that since we weren’t from the area that they would ship it to us. When we were done with our very expensive, very small piece of artwork, I tried to pay for shipping when I checked out. At that point, the young woman at the desk said no that she would call and get all of my shipping information when our item was glazed and ready for shipment. She did tell me that they were a little backed up and so it might take up to 7 to 10 business days to do. 12 business days after leaving, they did send me a text message saying that the item was ready to be shipped and they needed my shipping information. I provided the information and was told that it would be shipped out the following day. About six days later my daughter asked me where her stuff was so I called the studio to make sure that it had been shipped out, at that point, I was told that The owner was supposed to contact me and let me know that they couldn’t ship it without shipping payment first. I offered again to pay for the shipping. She then told me that she would have to speak with the owner and that she was not able to get it to the post office that day, but that the following day, which is today that I am writing this review, She is off and she will take it to the post office and mail it out for us. I contacted her today to find out if the item had been shipped out and how much I owe for shipping. That I could send the payment. She told me yesterday when I spoke with her that I could send the payment via cash app or Venmo, to which I told her I could cash app her for the shipping costs. Today when I called her, she said that she would not be in the office and that she would contact the store to make sure that it would be shipped out today. It’s all just a little much for a $40 piece of artwork that is literally a small 5 to 6 inch statue of a mermaid. Needless to say me getting the statue was not going to cure world, peace, or hunger, but it would make my little girl very happy to have her artwork that she painted. I feel like a lot of confusion would have been avoided if they would’ve just either told me that they will not ship it or let me pay for shipping the day that I purchased it. I don’t believe we will be going back. And what a bummer because it was such a neat idea and a very...
Read moreMy review is for a private studio booking for my daughter’s birthday party that was scheduled for a Sunday morning in March. I had been working with the manager about 1 month prior to and had double checked and confirmed the booking. The manager made me feel confident that parties and events are what they are known for. During the planning process the manager seemed to be helpful in answering questions although inconsistent in her answers, eg. would say one thing, then the next week would say something different. I had called the manager the week of the party and she said she would be there in the morning an hour before the event and I could come 30 minutes prior to in order to decorate. Day of the event after picking up breakfast, cake and balloons, etc, we showed up 30 minutes before and the studio was dark and doors were locked. We knocked and stood waiting while thinking of what we would have to tell my daughter and all the guests as we thought the manager had forgotten about the booking. Finally, 7 minutes before the party was to start, the manager pulled up. She said she woke up late. There was no apology. We were pretty upset at this point, but tried to at least appreciate that we didn’t have to cancel the party. Party starts and guests come, daughter and friends are happy. Then as the party activities begin, I realize the second staff member that is promised for the private studio booking had never shown up. I was told the 2nd staff member was unable to make it to work that day. As a result, my husband and I had to help assist with a lot of paint and party activities that we did not expect to (ie get paint colors, water, napkins, etc ); we were unable to entertain and enjoy the guests and parents as much as we would have liked. Ultimately, I’m glad my daughter enjoyed her birthday. However for the amount of money paid for the private studio booking, I believe what we had to experience is unacceptable. The owner apologized and provided a small discount. Also played the new card as they said they just opened in January, however I know franchises have a standard way of practice and this location did not meet it for my daughter’s...
Read moreOur team had an outing at this location earlier this year. While we enjoyed the activity itself and were happy with the final product, the customer service left much to be desired and significantly affected our overall experience.
We had a private group reservation, and things started off well. However, we encountered a few inconveniences. For example, we had to request a paint refill every time we ran out, unlike other locations where you're free to help yourself. We also weren’t informed about the availability of finer-tip paint bottles, something we only found out about from other locations.
As our session was nearing the end, one staff member reminded us that we had 15 minutes left, which we appreciated. We began wrapping up, but just five minutes before our scheduled end time, a woman we believe to be the owner approached us abruptly. She sternly told us we were overstaying and was going to charge us a $50 fee. We tried to explain that we were under the impression we had until the end of our time to clean up and finish. Unfortunately, she was not receptive and was extremely unprofessional in her tone. She then proceeded to contact our event organizer and claimed we had refused to leave (which was simply not true) and was charging her card for the fee.
To make matters worse, when one of our team members went to pick up the finished pieces, one was missing. Although it was eventually found, when she went back to pick it up, the staff member initially couldn’t locate it.
Overall, the experience felt disorganized and unnecessarily tense due to poor communication and customer service. I would not recommend this location to anyone else in my company for future team outings. For a much more pleasant experience, I’d highly recommend the Sugar Land location, where the staff is welcoming and much more...
