Rarely do I leave bad reviews but read before booking. Shampu requires you to drive in for a consultation prior to booking an appointment. GREAT. Love that idea. The point of the consultation is to give the salon an idea of how long and how much your specific hairstyle will take. The 30 minute drive was worth it! Phoung looked at several photos..brushed through my hair and told me I’d be looking at about $350-$400. Pricey. But I booked her. Because I wanted my hair done right. After spending 6 hours at the salon (don’t worry she had two other clients she was working with during that time as my hair processed) she then told me she needed to cut my hair bc the ends were damaged from the coloring. I told her to keep the length bc I love my long hair. She blowed dried it and checked me out. She said the total was $560!! Wait WHAT!!??? I drove 30 minutes to get a consultation to get a quote on my hair that meant NOTHING apparently. She told me that she had to use extra color bc my hair was long (SHE HAD ALREADY BRUSHED THROUGH IT at the consultation!) and then said she had to add $110 for a haircut!? I didn’t want the haircut. She told me she had to trim off the dead ends! And that’s $110? Listen. I’m all about paying for a good stylist but she was dishonest. She should have told me during the consultation that any ends she had to trim off were an extra $110...and that since my hair was long it would be extra. No she quoted me $350-400 at a mandatory separate consultation which was already way over my budget. But I accepted. Don’t trust what they quote you. Apparently that’s just for fun. You will walk out paying...
Read moreMy deposit was lost. Was given the wrong date for my first appiontment, and when they called 1 hour prior to confirm, I was out of town. We agreed on a second date, which I ended up cancelling DAYS in advance. Finally found a date that could work and was called 15 minutes prior to let me know my hairstylist needed to reschedule and that my deposit was no longer active due to my previous cancellation. I had been reassured throughout all of this that my deposit was still valid. This place is pricey and losing a deposit just increases the expense!! Very unprofessional… still looking through their website trying to find the deposit policy due to this unethical treatment. Two suggestions from a saddened potential client: (1) send confirmation alerts days in advance to avoid confusion, (2) have a standardized deposit policy; explaining it one way when getting money from clients initially, and changing it to your advantage later is stealing (illegal). If admin reads this, please respond with your email (can’t find it on the website); I’m looking for a copy of the deposit policy and acknowledgement form I signed when paying...
Read moreWhile I do love this salon, unfortunately you have to go through the rudest receptionist. I never leave bad reviews but I’ve been coming to Shampu for years and I still hate having to call and make an appointment with Brandon. After many years, he still answers and speaks to clients with an attitude. I recommended my stylist to my sister but my sister hung up the phone on Brandon because he was so rude to her when she tried to make an appointment. It took a month for her to be able to call back and deal with the attitude because I insisted she go to my stylist. I can’t imagine the potential clients he has cost the salon/stylists to lose out on because of his lack of care and professionalism. Many times I’ve walked in and he completely ignores me leaving me standing there waiting for a simple ‘hello’. Maybe he hates his job but it’s not an excuse to treat...
