I've been a customer of Mr. McGowan since I was 25 years old; for almost 25 years, and I can say that I've never been dissatisfied with the work both he and his office staff provides to the 5th Ward community. Always professional! As a single mom, single income household; making wise decisions concerning my finances is very important to me, and I'm thankful to have an agent that's not only professional, but also very compassionate towards his customers. On last month I faced an issue with my auto insurance policy that seemed impossible to fix; causing much stress and anxiety; however Mr. McGowan, along with Ms. Leona took every necessary step to make sure the outcome was beneficial on my behalf. Mr. McGowan is not just an agent, he's family to so many in the 5th Ward Community, and I can truly say that I APPRECIATE him with much respect! Ms. Leona, thank you for going the extra mile for my family and me; words can't express my sincere gratitude. I'm giving them 1 star only because Google does not have a 0 or negative option! Worst insurance agents I've ever encountered with! Canceled my account with them on September 13th and got an confirmation email stating that my account has been canceled successfully. Guess what, still got charged for the monthly premium in the end of September! Called again on the 27th, got another verbal confirmation from the manager and yet till today, my account is still active! Incompetent or completely careless?! Either way, this is not someone you'd want to hire to take care of your car/property. My bank suggested just dispute the charge in September and I decided to wait for State Farm to refund me back. wrong decision! Almost a year with state farm. I’ve had a great experience with state farm and this is MAINLY because of their insurance representative (Maria Bayutas). This representative was incredibly helpful, demonstrating deep knowledge, and addressing my concerns promptly. From my interactions with her she has shown to go out of her way to explain any questions or concerns I’ve had. Maria definitely has shown patience when it comes to explaining the minor details of my polices that I may have not understood in the past. She demonstrates urgency when it comes to providing the help I need. Recently, I changed my policy and Maria was the one to contact me after not being able to reach State Farm over the weekend.
