Guerrero Meat Market — Local services in Houston

I have been shopping here for more than 20 years and lately in the past several months their quality of "fresh" meats have diminished, a couple of weeks ago I asked the butcher to give me 1 pound of chicken breast and he urged me to buy more so I did, I also bought some sliced ham, when I got home, I opened the chicken and it had a sleight spoiled smell to it but didn't think nothing of it, the following day my daughter and I fell ill with stomach aches and diarrhea, then is when I realized why the butcher wanted me to take more chicken than I wanted they were trying to get rid of it, but I'm sure they don't throw it away, like most grocery stores, they add marinade and sell it as marinated chicken, a couple of days later my daughter was gonna make a sandwich but the ham that I also bought there had gone bad, also the fresh vegetables they have are not that fresh either going bad or bruised, also their ground beef is questionable, it does not have that fresh meat flavor and the texture is as if it has too much filler of some kind or too much ground bone, even the ground beef from Walmart has better taste, I will no longer shop here, very unsatisfied customer, fortunately for me there is another bigger better meat market a couple of...

I called this establishment on 12/14/23 “The manager” pick up the phone and greeted me in Spanish so I answered good morning do you speak English (because, I don’t speak Spanish) and she says “no I don’t” then proceeds to say “what do you need” so I asked her I thought you don’t speak English what was the need to answer me like that? Then she replies “well it’s a Spanish store” And I said exactly and I know that, that’s why I asked you if you speak English so I can communicate with you, so what was the need for you to answer me like that. You are very rude. She did not apologize. Tried to deflect and brush off how abrasive and rude she was to me. She was very loud, aggressive dismissive and disrespectful. Problem is you never know who u are talking to. I guess moral of the story is, if you’re not Spanish-speaking don’t call this establishment or shop with them because you’re not the target audience and they do not cater to you because she blatantly told me “well don’t” and hung up the phone, when I said I will not be shopping here. I will be reporting this matter to the Better Business Bureau, and use my channels within the food and restaurant...

I just wanted to share my experience and say that Guerrero Meat Market has the best meats, especially the fajitas marinadas. Since moving to Rhode Island in 2012, I haven't found meats or pollo marinado as good as theirs. My kids miss it too!
