Due to the owner’s response I feel a need to clarify: my skin therapist was texting during my facial and touching my face after touching her personal phone with no hand sanitizer or hand washing following - not as it was alluded to in the response. This had nothing to do with my regimen. My skin therapist was coughing up phlegm - coughing attacks that led to her having to leave the room to spit up and finish coughing and touching my face after covering her mouth with her hands without the use of hand sanitizer or washing.
Updating to 1-star for the response below glossing over my actual feedback on my experience.
My review below has nothing to do with cleanliness of facility. Comments in the “know before you go” piece were purely informational - no stars were removed because of this. Purely because of my experience being unsanitary and exposed to germs and bacteria unnecessarily.
Never have I ever left mid-facial until visiting Heyday River Oaks.
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: this is a shop that sells products and does facials on the side versus a spa that sells products.
My skin therapist was clearly sick, coughing like crazy, covering their mouth and then right back to touching my face. Also, they were texting during my facial and then touching my face without sanitizing. The coughing was so bad they left for several minutes of a 50 minute facial and I was asking if they were okay. Ultimately I left.
I added a star back because I was impressed by the front desk and manager’s efforts to make it right and because I did like some of the products that they used. I did not do 3 stars because of how many times they said my skin therapist was not contagious and not addressing the...
Read moreI never write reviews but skin is so important and I scoured them before booking an appointment here. I decided to book with Niara because I’d read so many glowing reviews about her, including people who continually returned which says a lot. I’ve never struggled with my skin until this past year so I had QUITE a bit to say lol and she made me feel so heard and listened to / less anxious in general as I’ve felt so self conscious about it. She truly seemed invested in figuring out the root problem and never once pushed any storefront products. I felt a sense of trust I never have with any other aesthetician and I’ve gone to several reputable spas in Houston / Austin. She wrote out an extremely practical routine for me (and frankly less complicated than my existing one which is probably for the best) and I even signed up for a membership upon leaving, which isn’t typical for me. I will edit this or add on to it in 4-5 months when I’m able to attest to the progress my skin has made- but for a first time or one time facial, I strongly recommend Niara and Hey Day in general. The girl who works in the front was very sweet as...
Read moreI'm a die hard skincare girly and facials are the main thing that keep my skin glowing. I recently added Arazlo onto my skincare routine leading to breakouts due to the rapid cell turnover and really needed a facial immediately. I was able to book a last minute appointment at Heyday and left raving to my friends about the experience.
First, love the ease of booking plus the availability. The place is super cute and the receptionist is 10/10! So friendly and even offered me tea. I enjoyed filling out the forms so I could pick things like a blanket and minimal talking so I could relax. The service was absolutely exceptional my service provider was incredible. I felt so pampered and it was such a luxury experience and worth every dime! I ended up purchasing some recommended products and signing up for a monthly membership. I also like that the products they sell are affordable and I don’t have to run around and find the recommended skincare products plus they are not pushy about purchasing. Extremely excited for my next session, my skin is glowing...
