Been going this place for 30 years. About to leave on way out waiting for my girl to get out restroom , and a fat chubby maybe bouncer worker guy says my shirt needs to be fully button when I had on another shirt under buttoned up, This shirt I had was overshirt due to cold inside some . He rudely says you have to leave this moment and I told him let e wait for girl get out restroom so she knows where im at ? He wouldn't and made me go out - which reality id easyily of been able to take this fat unhappy guy down yet didn't want to go to jail . Then when im outside he rudely tells my friends girl with us she has to leave too she wasn't even sure what was going on or why he so rude to her too ? careful this was so out of the blue and could of been a great night turned into brawl due to no reason of this chubby overweight worker. Wont go back unless get total apology and this is addressed by the owner ....this wasn't style of Marfrelis nor should any establishment for no reason have worker of this sort there....... cant bring date here or you might also be out nowhere Harrassed for no reason ...the owner sadly wrote nothing he an do. DONT GO TO THIS PLAE THERE USEING COOL NAME OF OLD PLACE THAT THERE STANDARDS DONT EQUAL...HOPE TO SEE THIS FATTY OUT ON TOWN THOUGH... Owner told this and he just blocked me from his facebook instead of fixing his employees sad style...He cares less his customers here and definitely not Houston style people or place...Ill tell the VIps Houston STAY AWAY ...he deletes any bad comments on his facebook page as he did mine too , and uses his friends to put only positive bogus reviews then deletes the real ones shows his own and his companys true colors ...THIS PLACE OULD TURN INTO TROUBLE WHEN U TAKE A DATE OUT OF NO WHERE - STAY AWAY SPREAD THE WORD...ISNT MEANT FOR A -LISTERS - Hes not...

Marfreless: A Discreet Downtown Intrigue (For Couples...Maybe)

Marfreless, nestled discreetly behind a blue door in a Houston shopping center parking lot, offers a unique experience that's not for everyone. This speakeasy-style bar/lounge features an atmosphere of intrigue from the very start. Finding the unmarked entrance adds to the clandestine feel.

Inside, the furniture leans towards the outdated, with small tables creating a somewhat cramped feel. While the initial impression might be one of a classic, low-key bar, a peculiar sign catches your eye: "Couples Only Upstairs." This cryptic message hints at something more going on behind the scenes.

Without firsthand experience, the rumors surrounding the upstairs area remain just that - rumors. Online reviews and whispers suggest an entirely different scene unfolds above, with plush love seats catering specifically to couples looking for intimacy (or perhaps something more). The frequent comings and goings of couples, sometimes returning with different partners, fuels the speculation that Marfreless caters to a specific clientele with a particular interest.

Whether Marfreless is a charming, hidden gem for couples or a more risqué establishment is a question left unanswered for those who don't venture upstairs. For the curious adventurer seeking a one-of-a-kind experience, Marfreless offers a taste of the unknown, but be prepared for an evening...

I organized a New Year's Eve get together on 12-31-17 for around 12 people. I checked there website the day of and even called in (no answer, no notice) to see if they were having a special event. Nothing was posted on there website and nothing was mentioned in the information when calling in. I arrived first around 9:30 to a locked door with no one outside, and no signage posted. I thought there was no way they were closed on New Years Eve. I doubled checked the website and sure enough they should have been open. As I started sending out texts to my friends to hold off, other groups of people were arriving and walking up to the door. At least 10 people showed up to a locked door in the 15 minutes I spent organizing a Plan B. Finally after several people started knocking a manager came out to inform people there was a private event and that after 10:00 PM they would be letting people in for $50 / each. While I have no problem with a cover charge, why not post this on your website? Why not leave a sign and communicate this to people? So many wasted Uber fares and pissed off customers. Our combined bar tab for that night totaled almost $1,800. I know this place is supposed to be the "secluded" "hidden spot" but if you have a website, for the love of god, use it. Complete failure...

I'm glad to have discovered the wonders behind the nondescript blue door. Lightning here was on the dimmer side. And coupled with the comfy seating on the first floor and loveseats on the second floor, the ambiance was perfect for an intimate hangout. I noticed groups of friends casually talking as well. We started out at the bar where we were greeted by a friendly bartender. There was an extensive variety of drinks on the menu. I had the Paloma prima cocktail while my date got a mango margarita. Both drinks were strong and well made. After some good conversation at the bar, we got another round of drinks which we took upstairs to chill on a loveseat. If grown and sexy is what you have in mind, you will be pleasantly amazed at this venue.
