Worst service ever. These people only want to honor white men in their suits. Others for some reason is less of human for this restaurant and I m a standing proof.
We had to wait for menu and water for 20 minutes while the white people in suits got served and were flooded with attention. While we were ignored. This made us feel uncomfortable and ignored. I wanted to leave but the server came as we stood up and handed out the menu like we were at his mercy.
We ordered appetizers and then got a call and we had to rush due to an emergency and We ordered the bill for appetizers that we ate , and mean while the barer who never cared about us and didn’t seem to notice us , all of a sudden decided to care and gives us a lecture on how we shouldn’t visit a “luxurious “ restaurant if we are just gonna eat appetizers.
The statement got even racist when he said “it’s not a road side dhabba like in india” and we should select such restaurants if we wanted just appetizers. How rude. We dint want to steep low and pick a fight with the server as we had to rush. Even if we dint have to rush their food and service wouldn’t have kept us anyways.
How can a restaurant give service staff an authority to tell customers what they should and shouldn’t be eating and food ethics classes as long as we paid our bill? The audacity to treat customers like beggars is sickening. Eating appetizers/ mains / deserts is my personal choice. How can a server comment on my meal? I m still baffled by the idea of a server in a restaurant treating customers like a nobody.
This has never happened in my entire existence. Never came across such a cheap behavior. Never going back again. Nor would suggest to anyone, not even to my worst enemy. I don’t know why ppl hire such barbaric/ Neanderthal ppl as staff.
The management should have courtesy to teach basic manners to their customer service staff. Nor the management apologized to us even after the entire restaurant saw a server yelling at us and the manager kept quiet.
If a staff can get away with treating customers so badly how are they even surviving in service industry? There is always a way to say stuff and clearly the restaurant staff have no clue on politeness / ethics/ manners or decency.
For all I know I want to sue them for embarrassing us out in public for no fault of ours. We paid the bill for such poorly made food and yet we got treated bad.
Treating browns like a nobody in a brown owned restaurant ? That’s heights. Wish could give them -10. Never felt so offended. And I was not the only one. There are so many reviews stating horrible hospitality with browns, I would strongly urge people to boycott the restaurant that treat humans...
Read moreMy husband and I have been to this location twice. The first visit was somewhat decent so we decided to give them another try. We are vegetarians and we love Indian food. We live in Kingwood and traveled almost an hour to enjoy dinner there or so we thought. We arrived mor than an hour before closing. Once we entered we were not greeted. A young man eventually asked us "How many?" And I stated two. Once he sat us we were poured some water and remained there for about 10 minutes w/o anyone checking on us. Then one of the owners passed us looked passed us to another table and insisted that one of the waiters get the gentleman some bread. He greeted the man observed the overall restaurant and then walked pass us again as we sat with no menus. So now we have been there for about 15min now without service. As the owner was walking pass us the waiter that he was speaking to informed him that the gentleman had requested no bread he then looked at our table and said that he would get us some bread. I then asked if we could actually get some menus because we had not ordered. He then stated, " Oh, tonight is buffet, no one told you!?!?" We were completely suprised and had no idea. So we then proceeded to where he directed us. Half of the buffet was vegetarian which was good. However, once we began eating the food was somewhat lukewarm. We ate what we could in the matter of 15 minutes. My husband began to take care of an important business matter over the phone and I sat patiently waiting for him. Then we began to be harrassed by the other owner about our bill. She originally did not greet us, nor did she inform us about the buffet, she dropped off the check while I was still eating, and then decided to rush us to pay. All the while other parties were still dining and talking. It was over all a horrible experience and not worth the money that I paid to dine or drive an hour to eat there. Will never return with such poor customer care...
Read moreI've been here twice for the buffet during both the lunch & dinner.
The tikka masala is good, and the mutton/goat this time was very good with thick gravvy for the naan. (A smidge on the harder side, but still good.) The mutton wasn't tough this dinner time, and the flavor was better. They push out a large volume and variety for their buffet, so it's understandable. The dhal, a staple, is also good.
I tried the kahib, shrimp jalfrezzi, and broccoli / cheese khorma as well. I was unimpressed with the jalfrezzi, but it is probably nice for some people. The khorma reminded me of cheesy mac a little bit. The pakora by itself is bland, but, it's a guilty pleasure tasty (c'mon, it's fried). Tandoori is okay, in my opinion, but will be nice for some people. I wish there was actually a hot & spicy dish. The Indo-Pak.chili paneer is the only one that came close.
The gulab jamun is still very nice though, serviced fresh and hot. I also tried a mango mousse dessert, which was tasty and not overly sweet. I love mango kulfi, so this also made my night.
Excellent dinner service, very friendly staff The teenaged daughter was extremely courteous and polite), family oriented, and is catered to American middle class households. Complementary valet service during lunch hour. Lighting is on the dim side, so I would prefer a tad more lighting. They change tablecloths after each guest leaves. Everything is clean, from the windows to the buffet table, and from the silverware to the glassware and napkins. Overall, pleased, and the buffet is worth the $15. Quick turnaround if you need it, or you can eat and laugh with friends at...
