Update Jan-2022: I've been coming to Susan Hair Salon for 10+ years. Everyone here is friendly and provides great service. They usually see their regular customers by appointments but they take walk-ins. All hairstylists wear masks. My stylist is Kim Tran, Chief Hairstylist. Kim gives great haircuts! I also like how she manages her time and customers in such a way that when I make an appointment with her, I never have to wait. She takes walk-in customers but she doesn't double-book. I have never had to wait more than 5mn in the last 10+ years! I currently wear a bob-style haircut with one side longer than the other side (like Victoria Beckham, haha!) Kim cuts my hair in such a way that makes it very easy for me to maintain: wash hair then a quick 5mn blow-dry and I'm ready to go. Kim also know how to cut my hair so my hairline cow lick doesn't show on the back of my head. You can't help the way your hair wants to grow but an experienced hairstylist like Kim can fix it so your cow lick (lack of hair growth) can be hidden from view. Kim also colors my grays with high-quality Paul Mitchell products. She cuts my hair first, then she puts color on me. She lets me sit and wait for 30mn, which is the time it takes for the color to work. She then works with the next customer. When the buzzer sounds, even though she may be in the middle of working with the other customer, she will ask them to wait so she can wash my hair and then finish the styling. If you want a great hairstylist and you don't want to wait around at a salon, you should call the salon and book an appointment with Kim, Chief Hairstylist! I highly...
Read moreStay away from this place if you don't want to go bold. They say that they do Japanese Digital Perm. I made an appointment with Kim that is supposed to be the "Expert" They don't have the Japanese digital perm. What they have is a machine made in China that heats up the rollers. I knew something was wrong when she didn't condition my hair first. If you look in youtube, that is the first thing they must do. She started applying something that smelled like Nair hair removal. I asked hair and she said that it was almost the same thing. That she needed to give the hair the consistency of a rubber band. I was terrified when she started grabbing strands and stretching them like a rubber band. She said not too worry that she knew how far she can go. She rinse the hair removal and then she put me the hot rolls and set a small timer for 30 minutes. A manual timer? It is supposed that the digital machine have a sensor so no need for a timer. Anyway, 30 minutes passed and she was busy doing hair cuts. She said not to worry that it will be fine. After and hour she came and rinsed my hair. Needles to say it was fried. She said that I needed a conditioning treatment that it was $65.00 I am thinking to take her to the small claims court. I had to cut my hair very short and I had spend a lot of money in...
Read moreI am never coming back to this place again, i have long thick black hair with lots of volume and layers. When i walked in it felt as if i was getting interesting looks from other stylist. I asked the lady cutting my hair to get my layers that were already there to be re-cut. I showed her a picture of layers with a v shape at the bottom. Cutting layers does not mean to THIN OUT HAIR. When i looked down the the chair it had looked like a she had cut off pretty much half of my hair. She left the ends extremely thin and long but pieces at the front short, choppy, and un blended. Now everytime i see my hair from another angle it looks as if my hair is falling out. I chose a different salon because i thought that knowing how to cut layers would be universal. Now i’m left with flat and thin hair to at cannot be styled. Don’t let just anybody touch your hair, especially if it means great sentimental...
