I was at the Pin Oak Home Depot and this guy (in a Home Depot "uniform") walks past me and says, in one of the most cheerful voices I've heard, "How Are you doing today sir? Is there anything we can help you with?" I said no thank you and continued on my way. I stopped for a minute to look up something on the Home Depot app and I heard the same voice speaking to another employee. From the questions he was asking, I assume she had been injured in the past, and he was checking up on her to make sure that she had been in touch with her doctor and that if she had any issues being on her feet she needed to let him know so he could make arrangements for her. She seemed to be very grateful that he asked about her and had a huge smile on her face when I walked by her. As I continued to shop I could hear him asking employees if they needed help and asking customers if they needed help. He asked me two different times at different points in the store and the third time I took him up on it and asked about a replacement rope I needed for my tree pruner. He walked me over to the aisle and found the person who handled that section and explained to the employee what I needed and then proceeded to tell the employee that he would take the basket in the back for the employee so the employee could help me. That's when I stopped and asked him who he was and if he was new here....lol. He explained that he was a store manager that covered several stores. He was one of the most joyous and incredible spirits I have ever met and he literally made Home Depot feel like a small town hardware store. Thank you Ricky Ray for caring so much about your job, about your employees and about the customers. I'm truly a better person...
Read moreI've been going to this home Depot for many years, and have spent somewhere between $25k and 50k at this one store over the last 10 years. Because of this I think I can safely say that this store has gone downhill lately. Unfortunately I don't think this has anything to do with this particular stores management and is likely a corporate Home Depot issue. The staffing levels are inadequate to handle peak times such as morning on the weekends or holiday sales. However, as someone who tends to do trade and contractor work, for me the most glaring issue is the lack of hardware selection and inventory. Inventory at this Home Depot but pretty much all that I have visited lately has been terrible in terms of stock outs. If you want something that is a high volume sales item. If you are looking for something that tends to be a high volume item there's a good chance it's sold out. If you want something that is supposedly stocked but is a low volume item it is often not reordered even for months. On the visit I just took to the store the sawzall blade rack was basically 75% out of stock. Circular saw blades were similarly out of stock. If you want any kind of specialty screws or bolts then you will be similarly disappointed. I believe that Home depot's plan is to try to compete with Amazon for low volume items and get you to order from their site. This idea does the customer no favors at all since depot's ability to deliver quickly is nowhere near the same, they don't have near the selection, and the return policy is a much bigger pain. Bottom line I don't see it working. I really do the lament the demise of the...
Read moreCustomer service sucked today and a few other times before. Not just a white or black thing but straight up customer service satisfaction and support. I waited in line until a register became available and proceeded to scan my items. Commerical account /needed tax exempt access so I turned around and looked for a cashier/store associate. The white Male was speaking with a customer so I waited until he was done. I said excuse me Sir I need to be tax exempt. He looks at me and then walks toward the lady who was behind me in line and she proceeds to ask him a question .... I waited, I DID NOT GO OFF! I took myitems and went to walk towards customer service and things only got better. The cashier runs behind me in the store telling ma'am, ma'am hellloooooooo I know you hear me calling you. I'm not going to say it again. Why Lord... I DID NOT GO OFF! I looked back and said you need to stop following me in this store .twice I reminded him that he didn't want to help me. So I went to customer service and waited in line. An Asian woman approached me and asked me could she speak to a manager and I said ma'am I don't work here and I'm waiting in line to speak to someone as well. So 4 store associates are there (2 assisting 1 customer and the other 2 just there)but they all made eye contact with me so I know they saw me standing there.so the Asian woman approached the other 2 and immediately got assistance again I DID NOT GO OFF! I take my items to a register and this nice lady named Ramona at 0566 00003 was so polite and did a very great job. 🤝 they need to hire 50 Ramona's or something because I should not have to go...
