Disappointed and Frustrated: Terrible Customer Service at Unique Home Furniture
I recently had an incredibly disappointing experience with Unique Home Furniture, and I feel compelled to share my frustration. I purchased a dinning table from their store, hoping to finally upgrade my kitchen dinning area. However, upon delivery, the item was noticeably damaged â scratches on the table top.
The real nightmare began when I contacted customer service to request a replacement. To my utter disbelief, they outright refused to replace the damaged furniture, claiming it was my responsibility to inspect the item thoroughly upon delivery. While I understand the importance of inspecting goods, it's impossible to catch every flaw in a rushed delivery moment. Moreover, the damage was clearly due to poor craftsmanship, packaging, or warehouse inspection and not mishandling on my part.
The customer service representative/manager was not only unhelpful but also dismissive and borderline rude. They showed no empathy for my situation and seemed more interested in shifting the blame than finding a solution. I was left feeling frustrated and unheard, especially after spending a significant amount of money on what was supposed to be a quality piece of furniture.
To make matters worse, their return policy is convoluted and heavily favors the store rather than the customer. It's clear that once they have your money, they have little interest in ensuring your satisfaction or honoring their commitment to selling quality products. I have had similar experiences in which the store has, without hesitation, replaced the damaged item. It is just good business.
In conclusion, I strongly advise against shopping at Unique Home Furniture. Their lack of customer service and refusal to stand behind their products make them an unreliable choice for furniture purchases. Selection - They have a wonderful selection at good prices. I came here skeptical that I would find something appealing... I found that my budget wasn't large enough to purchase the many things I found to be appealing! Their showroom is a little small and cluttered which makes moving around a little difficult.
Service - This store is in what seems to be a rough neighborhood, but I've never felt threatened when I was in the area. The staff is friendly and honest. They will tell you if a model they have has been giving other customers issues. They aren't rude or pushy but still attentive to your needs. One of the saleswomen is pretty hot too.
Delivery - Although they didn't call me as expected, they did arrive well within the 4 hour time window they said they were going to arrive. They also scheduled my delivery time late in the evening so I was able to run errands in the morning/afternoon. Their delivery & setup fee is not as steep as other furniture stores. The best part is that you can buy several items (bedroom + living room set) and the delivery fee is the same no matter how many items you buy.
To conclude, I would purchase from them again as I've had a wonderful experience. The furniture looks great, the delivery guys were fast and efficient, and the sales gals were friendly...
   Read moreSalesperson Maria is awesome. My daughter and I were shopping for a new mattress set for her new bedroom furniture. Maria came along and informed us about the difference between each bed. What was so awesome about her salesmanship was, she was not taking a no but she wasn't aggressive. She gave plenty of different options on how to purchase including layaway. Which is my favorite part of the sale etc. She extended a great purchase price with free delivery,even though we put it on hold for a couple of weeks. She was so determined to close the deal that I appreciated her tenacity on being a saleswoman. My daughter purchased it with a small down payment and will receive it on the 19th on her move-in date. Whoever's in charge needs to give her a raise. Because I'm coming back to do my purple and white beauty room from you guys and some additional accessories for my townhouse. And I most definitely tell people about your location at all times. I like to shop the smaller furniture stores just for this exact reason. Better options, reasonable price points...
