Read moreI purchased three skeins of yarn for a project, but only needed one. I went to return the remaining two with my receipt. I approached the very clearly labeled "returns and exchanges" register and told the employee that I wanted to return the two skeins of yarn and handed him my receipt. He scanned it and then looked puzzled and looked at me. He said, "This said you bought three, but there are only two here." I replied, "I only needed one for my project, so, I am returning the two that, I didn't use because I don't need them." More confusion. He said he had to call his manager over so he didn't return all three. His manager had to tell him what to do. Manager walked away. The total of my refund was $9.98. I had paid cash originally, and he was going to refund me the cash. I asked him, "Can I give you two cents?" He looked and me and was confused. He said, "Your refund is $9.98." I said, "Yes, I see that. May I give you two cents so I get $10 back?" Utter confusion on his face. He looked at the amount and then his open cash register drawer and then said, "It will just be easier for me if I give you nine dollars and ninety-eight cents. Is that ok with you?" It wasn't ok with me, but I didnât want to waste any more time or his brain cells, so, I said, "Fine." He counted out the $9.98 onto the counter and gave me my receipts. I wholly planned on spending the returned money in the store, but I NOPED right out of there and will NEVER go to that place again. Why would management assign someone to "returns and exchanges" who: 1) doesn't know how to do a return, and 2) doesn't know how to provide an efficient refund? There were some other things I observed in my initial visit that I wasn't comfortable with including employee interaction, but the last refund interaction sealed the deal for me. I'll go to...
Read moreI used to love this store, and would go there atleast 3 times a month. I never had any issues except for the lack of mixed media supplies. Yesterday night I went to this store to pick up some sharpie paint markers, a gel plate and a mixed media journal from ranger. I had my little boy sitting in the cart and his diaper bag was inside the cart. The cart was filled with holes, just like every cart is. My individual sharpie paint pens kept falling down the holes and onto the floor. So I decided to put them in the side pocket of my son's diaper bag so they wouldn't keep falling out. I made sure the markers were visible because I didn't want anyone thinking I was stealing them. The manager at the store last night, came up to me asking if I needed help. I nicely said no thank u and she walks right by my cart, looks in the cart, sees the markers, and says nothing. Than I hear a page for security to check all cameras. A friend of mine who works there told me that the manager paged security because she thought I was stealing. Then I hear a page saying Howell police dept on the phone. I was pissed off because the manager kept following me and not once did she say anything to me. If I was going to steal, why would I make sure they were visible for the manager to see?!? Making your customers feel uncomfortable because you are assuming things, is not good customer service. If she would have told me I couldn't put the markers there, I would have removed them. Very rude manager who doesn't know how...
