I was referred to this salon and a stylist by someone who never used this service but met this stylist somewhere else. When I was making the appointment online because it was on a Monday and the shop was closed, I had seen that there were Groupons for this salon so I decided since I was going for a haircut for basically the same price $55.00. I could get a full head of hilights, wash, dry and conduction. I even stated that In the appointment I made online. When I went in the day of the service, the stylist said she doesnโt take groupons but she would because I was t told. She told me mine would be a little more because my colored hair had so many colors already so she couldnโt do regular hilights She would do more, the Bill was double $110....I said ok I liked the cut and barely saw the hilights but she did warn me. I gave the stylist a $20.00 tip and the washer $10. What happened the next day blew me away....the owner called me telling me there was a misunderstanding. The groupon states there is a 15% required gratuity for using the groupon but the tip they said is based on what the service would have cost instead of the Groupon. In my case I thought it was $110 but they say $265.00 for cut, dry, some hilights and a glaze whatever that is The owner asked me how I would like to settle this bill. I can either give the a credit card or come in and pay $20.00 more to the stylist ๐ต. I was Confused, upset, shocked, embarrassed. I told the owner Seriously are you kidding me and she said no her stylists get screwed Lot of times with tips so she has to make people understand... I was riding with my husband and 2 friends who insisted I hang up on her. She should be embarrassed and if she wants to deceive people with groupons she shouldnโt offer them if the stylist get โscrewedโ. I did give my credit card but the stylist called and let me a message saying she was sorry and she wasnโt charging my account but she did agree that the tip should be on what the service would have cost and not what I paid. I waited 2 weeks to write this review because I wanted other opinions and honestly NOT 1 person agreed with this salon owner and stylist and to make things worse my hair doesnโt look like it has any hilights and most people didnโt even know I got anything but it cut shorter. When I mentioned what happen and how much this would have cost they all had the same reaction. They laughed and said this place should be...
ย ย ย Read moreThis salon is disgusting. It looks like they barely ever clean it. I have been there multiple times a year since 2007 and for the last 3 years I cannot remember having a good experience. The stylists clearly don't know what they're doing. At my most recent visit, I came and my stylist did not even check the color or length of my hair. I brought in multiple pictures, and talked to my stylist about putting a few different colors in my hair. I came in with hair very easy to work with that was healthy and long. I had a sharp V cut in the back. My stylist put on an UGLY color copper that my roots took to (OBVIOUSLY SINCE I HAVE ROOTS YOU CAN'T YUSE THE SAME COLOR ON THE REST OF MY HAIR.) As AMANDA was doing my hair, she kept letting my bangs sit on my forehead, getting copper & dark brown dye all over my forehead, it was stinging really badly. She did not separate my hair (the under dark brown from the copper on top) so there was no straight line of where one color starts & the other ended. After 35 minutes of her applying the dye, she set a timer & did not get the hair or dye off my face, I asked for a water bottle, she said sure, forgot & went to another customer!!!!!! After all of this, she cut my beautiful hair STRAIGHT ACROSS, didn't give me the layers I had asked for, had to re dye my roots and told me because I may be getting my period that my roots came out so light..... I had no red in my hair I wanted it to be brown & blonde when I came in for my APPT. She did not apologize, I told the RUDE manager who also has a daughter who works at the salon, that was also at the desk how horrible it looked, she claims its my fault because 1 OF THE 10 PICTURES I SHOWED HER HAD A TINT OF RED, SHE SUGGESTED I USE A BOX COLOR THEN IF I WAS NOT HAPPY. She was rude & I had dye all over my face still while they were telling me im wrong, Ha! I came back a week later to get it fixed & they messed it up even more. The girl who "fixed it" tried to kick us out, saying they couldn't please me & I had come back to get a more expensive dye job then originally done the week before. They did not check the color after & had ME DRY MY OWN HAIR WITH USED BRUSHES. UNPROFESSIOnAL. DIRTY, RUDE, & CLEARLY NO CONCEPT OF CUSTOMER...
ย ย ย Read moreI used a Groupon at the Marlboro Metro for a full head of hi-lights which are to be blond as have been for over 10+ years along with a haircut, treatment and blowout. I was scheduled with a female named Dominique and I told her that I wanted to hi-lights close to the root as I have always had done as well as blond, NOT a brassy, orange-yellow type blond. Well, I washed my hair the following day, thinking that the brassy color would come out which it did not. I gave it a few more tries over the following week however no improvement and my entire hairline was brown, meaning the roots were not close enough as per my request. It was a horrible color of what they consider to be blond since I finally had time to stop in the salon to show them my hair. I was told that my roots were grown out since it was two weeks which is a joke since I always have had no sign of brown (natural hair color) for the first month following a full head of hi-lights. I wear my hair up alot and it is disgusiting to be seen with all different shades of blond, yellow, orange and brown hair. Dominque told me that the orange was from my makeup which is not the case at all since I washed my hair countless times then blew it out and always had this color near the roots since she did my hair. I was only offered to come in and she would put a toner on AGAIN. It seems Metro really comes up with great excuses for poorly done color put on your hair. It is extremely frustrating when you complain about the color being totally off and they automatically have excuses to blame it on the customer. I would never pay for their services again and regret giving METRO of Marlboro another chance at doing my hi-lights after numerous years of trying them out in the past. I guess the GROUPON is at a lower price because you pay for what you get which is horrible color. I do not recommend anyone with blond...
