I only gave one star because it was the only way to write a review. This is now Everybody Fitness which seems to be great because the place is actually getting some updates and structure. However, it is very unfortunate that they didn't update the staff. I've been a member off and on for over 15 yrs and have dealt with my own issues there (mainly rude staff) My 80 + yr old grandmother went and was told that with the type of membership she was buying she wouldn't be able to take classes or use the pool area. THAT was a LIE. I found out that the type of membership she had allowed her to use the spa area and take classes. So I took her contract in prior to close of the 3rd day to have it canceled. The lady that was there asked me to bring it back the next day because the individual that handles it had already gone for the evening. I refused, made her take the signed-canceled contract and write me a statement that she herself had recieved it on time. That was on Monday evening and its now Friday - home office stated they hadn't received the cancellation. I went in to ask about why the cancellation hadn't been completed and I had PLANNED to talk to them about the type of contract she had, as she wanted to continue as a member but wanted to have access to the spa area etc (which was actually already part of her purchased contract) LINDA the MANAGER, unfortunately, should have been either let go when the place was sold or required to take some type of customer service classes. HORRIBLE and RUDE. Rolled her eyes several times like I was wasting her time when I asked her about the contract. Accused my grandmother AND her friend of basically having selective hearing. Then told me she gave them a deal because they purchased at the same time. It is my understanding that EVERYBODY FITNESS has 3 types of memberships. The type they both purchased allowed use of everything at the Huber location only. That wasn't the issue-the issue was she lied to them, lied to me and was extremely defensive and short when I started asking her questions. It was like dealing with a 3rd grader that just got caught in a lie and was being called out on it. Then she attempted to call over another staff member and drag her into it. I have always respected that specific individual up until today. I personally will not return to this location.
A good manager that possesses proper customer service skills and wants to maintain a good relationship with members etc would have ....
1.WITH A SMILE - asked what she could do to help or make things better. 2. POLITELY -mention that its possible that the 2 elderly women she sold contracts to may have misunderstood, considering they offer 3 different types of memberships APOLOGIZED- for the misunderstanding and invited the individual that had canceled to come back and give them the opportunity to rectify the situation and thoroughly explain each membership. Maybe after they get all the updates done they will hire new staff. New ownership-new faces! T Going to the gym/location isnt the issue-...
Read moreThis place is a great option for women who want to work out in a ladies only environment. There are a variety of classes to keep you moving and motivated, the instructors and staff are personable & down to earth: they are willing to help with anything you need.. classes.. weights.. diet.. whatever your goals are this is a great gym! & donât forget the pool, steam room & sauna!!
Update- membership was good, classes were great & helped me keep going! Contract was the challenge. Commitment is a good thing, and if you can consistently go to the gym thatâs great! But life happens too.
So be clear when signing up that you understand the stipulations for cancellation of membership. I chose a 1 year membership to see whether it was something I planned to continue. I didnât have trouble, and I chose to cancel after a year because of physical and time constraints. I stayed on top of each step of cancellation, but I had to go in and call & email, to ensure cancellation was complete on both the contract and with the team that handled the financial part. I changed my 5 star to 4, because it seems this is a difficult area for ladies gyms to make user-friendly and could have used some improvement during membership periods...
Read moreI joined the Huber location on January 12, 2021. When I first walked in I noticed a clean facility. Jenna (the gm) met me at the door with a smile. She was not stressful or pushy with me, she asked about why I wanted to join a gym, what my expectations were and if I liked classes. She showed me around and introduced me to some ladies whoâve been members for years! When it was time to discuss joining she allowed me private time to call and discuss everything with my husband. I knew exactly what I was getting into before signing. Jenna is very honest and up front. There were NO hidden fees or fine print. I signed a 3 year contract and I am so happy I did! Next thing you know, I am there 5 days a week, lost body fat and inches! I am also getting pretty tan from the tanning bed ;). I like that if I donât know what workout to do for the day, jenna has a bag of workouts she pulls from. I feel stronger everyday! I am someone who suffers from anxiety and depression, this gym, these ladies gave me a place where I feel like I finally belong! Miss Jane works in the daycare room. My kids absolutely love her!! Everyone is truly kind, professional, and clean!! I havenât regretted a...
