Royal Bourbon Chicken — Restaurant in Huber Heights

Our first time dining here, but I had experienced bourbon chicken before and liked it. Very friendly service up front, and once she learned it was our first time, she offered sample tastes of bourbon chicken and cajun chicken, we liked both. I ordered Cajun chicken over spicy rice with Cajun potatoes, and enjoyed it a great deal, but I would mix up some flavors if I did it again. Chicken was definitely a highlight. My date had seasoned chicken over white rice in a bowl (think taco salad bowl, deep fried tortilla), and also enjoyed it, though she couldn't finish it on one sitting. (There is also buffalo chicken, I'm trying that next time. There is also veggie rice, which I believe is white rice with some cooked vegetables.) For dessert we shared a funnel cake...yes, a funnel cake...for $4.49! Only topping available at the time was powdered sugar, which is what I wanted anyway. If you dine in, the dining room is a little basic, with booths and a few tables, and your food is in travel containers (easier to take those leftovers with you!). I can see why one reviewer said it felt like a food truck experience...but to me, that isn't a bad thing. Since not served at the tables, there isn't the expectation of tipping, but there is a little square box on the register, so make sure you leave a little appreciation behind, I like it when someone isn't acting like they have to work there, it was a great experience. I'm lazy, admittedly. And Huber is really congested between my house and this restaurant. So I usually Doordash. And I wish I did today. Cause now I know just how horrible the customer service is. And they weren't busy. There were 2 people waiting for food. I come in, the behind the counter comes out, looks me in my eyes, grabs a pen and turns around to go in the kitchen. He proceeds to come out, look at me, not acknowledge me, just blank stare and leave 2 more times. When he finally comes out a 4th time, he just stares at me while standing at the cash register. Literally says nothing to me. At this point, I'm laughing. Cause I think I should have left... Instead I stop laughing and tell him my order. He's mumbling reponsives to me and I'm not hard of hearing, he's literally whispering. The attitude on this guy is a visible thing! If he didn't want to work today, he should called off. I get it, it's cold, I hate Ohio too but I wouldn't personally make someone feel like they offended you by dare showing up for food and making you...

Yesterday, I came across this place when I looked up fried fish near me. I have been trying to find a good or decent fish place and let me tell you, this place didn't disappoint. I came in and it felt like a place I could just hang out and have some good food. The atmosphere is great. Service was amazing! I told the guy that it was my first time and asked what he recommended and he said the bourbon chicken baked potatoe and the fried catfish. I got both and also hush puppies and a funnel cake. I was so excited to try this food. The bourbon chicken baked potato was massive. The fried fish was exactly what I was looking for. Hush puppies and funnel cake was delicious. I would give this a 10/10. The flavor was good. Also, some of the guys working there came out and told me I need to try the salmon. I appreciate y'all great customer service.
