To the owner please get someone who actually know what they are doing for the specific kind of treatment that your client is looking for. I even told Abby that the steps were not being done correctly but she said each person do it differently. My hair looks horrible and worse than when I got in since at least I had a good smooth blow dry a day before. I’ve done Cezanne hair treatments before and I knew what to expect. She didn’t blow dry my hair after clarifying shampoo before applying the product and also she didn’t remove the excess product before last blow dry and flat iron finish. She said the product was supposed to stay in my hair. I didn’t want to create a scene I was just looking forward to leave. She didn’t even blow dry the frizzy roots of my hair didn’t even touch the roots with flat iron. Left $252 without tip for nothing. Waste of my time and I really needed this done correctly since I won’t be able to manage my hair in the following weeks due to a health matter. Bellow a quick study to #hairbyabbyc
Usage Instructions: Prep Wash hair twice with Cezanne Clarifying Shampoo Blow-dry with a vent brush or fingers until 100% dry Section off the nape area and clip the rest of the hair up
Apply Shake product and place 1-2 ounces (30-60ml) into a non-metallic bowl (add more treatment into the bowl as needed) Starting at the nape, apply treatment 1/4" (6.35mm) distance from the scalp in 1/2" (12.7mm) strokes with a color brush Massage treatment into hair with fingers Distribute the product with a fine-tooth comb before adding it to sections already completed below Work your way up the head, repeating the application until the entire head is completely saturated with treatment To ensure complete coverage, comb the entire head again and reapply treatment to hairlines and porous ends
Process Let the treatment sit for 30 minutes Do not put on a cap
Rinse Rinse with lukewarm water and low pressure (do not use shampoo or conditioner) Very long, thick or coarse/resistant hair may need a longer rinse Leave a small amount of residue in the hair (a little bit more than the "slip" you'd feel during a deep conditioning treatment) Place the nozzle directly onto the scalp when rinsing, moving it around the head and focusing on the nape area If the ends are porous, hold them out of the water until you're almost finished rinsing
Blow-Dry Do a meticulous blowout with the blow-dryer set on medium heat with high airflow (higher heat may be needed for coarse/resistant hair) If the hair is really wet, use a vent brush or your fingers to remove extra water The hair should feel like it has texture spray in it (if the hair seems gummy or heavy, take the client back to the bowl and rinse again) Use a round brush or paddle brush to get hair as smooth as possible The better the blow-dry, the less flat ironing you'll need to do to get hair silky
Flat Iron Flat iron meticulously using an average heat setting of 380-410 F (193-210 C) For a high-lift blonde or someone with very damaged hair, start at the lowest heat setting and work your way up to a safe heat Take small sections, concentrate at the roots and flat iron until hair is silky, which indicates that the hair is sealed with treatment On average, each section requires 3 passes with a flat iron to seal the hair (coarse/resistant hair may need more passes with a flat iron) To complete the service, give your client a quick trim or haircut to...
Read moreIm giving the stylist a 1 star, not the salon. The salon and the stylists I’ve had in the past are absolutely amazing. But, I’m really upset about my haircut. I’ve had a devastating year. This was a little gift to myself so I could enter into a new phase of life. A happier one. I was so excited. My hair before the cut is in the pictures. I booked my appointment with someone that charged cheaper than others, and someone I’ve never seen before (I haven’t been in a few years). I left with a lump in my throat and wanted to burst into tears. I don’t like to be “that customer” though, so I didn’t say anything.
We were on a time crunch, since my appointment was for 11, and I had a virtual doctors appointment at 11:30 (I totally forgot about that until the day before). So she was working against time, I understand that. I had short hair before and know exactly the length I like it at. She started out with it being a little long so I had shown her with my hands where I wanted it at. At one point, I noticed it had been getting cut shorter and shorter as she continued on. Once I had noticed it going past the length I wanted, I tried hard to be okay.
At the beginning of my appointment, I said I wanted a slight angle so it wasn’t “severe” looking. She gave that to me, but it’s so short in the back. I think to compensate she had to make the rest of my hair moving toward my chin shorter, too. Other than the length, the bluntness of the bottom doesn’t look good. Usually stylists will ask me if I want the ends to be a little thinner so it has a softer look. I don’t know how to explain what it is they actually do, but I always say yes. I didn’t say it this time. I guess I was expecting her to do that since she didn’t ask me. I think with being a stylist and understanding what would look good to the human eye, it would’ve made sense to cut it so it wasn’t as blunt at the bottom. It looks as if she put a bowl around my head and cut it. You can’t see it in the picture, but the hair in the very back against my neck is much shorter than the outer layer of my hair in the back. So there’s a weird dimension now where it’s just the very outer layer being the length it shows in the pictures. She also used a men’s type buzzer to get the peach fuzz on my neck. I agreed but also have never had that done. I don’t mind the peach fuzz. It’s white-blonde and I actually like it. My neck is now irritated and feels like someone scratched my neck.
I think if I didn’t have such a devastating year and hadn’t been as excited to get my hair cut to have a fresh start, I wouldn’t be this upset. But I already have a low tolerance for stress right now, and I didn’t forsee this being something I need to cope with. Looking in the mirror now makes me more sad than when I looked in the mirror before I had my...
Read moreTL;DR Hostile, rude, and confrontational owner who refuses to make things right after balayage turned out badly
I booked a hair cut and partial balayage with Sarah on 1/4 in the evening. I had an overgrown balayage that I had asked to be updated. The appointment was made awkward by the fact that a client of the owner showed up for service but the owner was at a family event. This means Sarah was working on my hair AND the owner’s client’s hair simultaneously.
The resulting balayage did not turn out well. There are several distinct blonde stripes originating at the top of my head where the “balayage” was updated. There is no blending whatsoever and is not flattering in the least. The back profile, as seen in the pic, is noticeably stripey, piecey and with no blending to the top. I told Sarah the next day I’d like to have it fixed and I didn’t hear back for 3 days. I scheduled an appointment with my old stylist as a result to get it fixed and asked Sarah for a portion of the balayage refunded.
After 8 days since my service I received a phone call from the owner, Matt, who was already defensive and hostile with my request for a partial refund. He said I could get my hair fixed with Sarah or another stylist. I told Matt, while that could’ve worked previously I didn’t hear from Sarah for several days, I received several unfavorable comments about the state of my hair, I have a time sensitive trip coming up, and truthfully I don’t know any of the stylists except Sarah who didn’t do a good job so at this time I’m no longer willing to get this balayage fixed at their salon. I put my trust in Sarah for the balayage and it didn’t go well, now I’m expected to trust his other stylists to fix it?
I had said to Matt at one point, “Matt, this phone call is getting unnecessarily tense” as he was raising his voice, cutting me off, and overall acting unprofessional. There was no room to discuss the situation, but only his increasing belligerence in telling me I can either get it fixed with them or too bad.
His bottom line was that they will not be giving any sort of a refund, it’s my fault I didn’t try to get in better touch with the salon sooner, it’s my fault I prefer to get it fixed elsewhere, etc. and then hung up on me. There is no accountability from this salon whatsoever.
I understand it’s a common salon policy to have the stylist fix the hair, and in my situation where it took too long for someone to get back in touch, stylist didn’t do a great job, and awful customer service from the salon owner, it’s understandable that I would not want to come...
