I have had the most terrible experience with this store. I purchased a glass decanter that was a little dirty when I bought it; It wasn't cheap, $50. So I asked the clerk specifically if I would be able to use it and he said "Absolutely, this will clean right up with a little wash." I was hesitant to buy it because I really wanted to be able to use it but he assured me it would be fine. I drove 30 minutes back to the store to try and return it and when I got there the store was closed. I missed the sign that said it was closed because an associate got covid, so I called the number that was listed on the sign that had the store hours. The person who answered was extremely rude when I explained I was looking to return the glass decanter that wouldn't, he basically laughed and me and said "iT's An AnTiqUe." It was as if my ask was absurd and I was rude for even asking. I explained the situation when I bought it that I was told it would clean up and I would be able to use it. I honestly have never been spoken to so rudely by someone I was doing business with. He clearly doesn't stand by his products or care about customer service. I understand times are challenging and running a business is extremely difficult. I have a lot of sympathy for that, but I DO NOT have sympathy for someone who treats their customers so rudely. I won't...
Read moreEclectic yes but more like the original design eye of Ralph Lauren with oars, yellowed books and wooden discus's when he was establishing a background look for his interior work. Essentially a higher priced version of any country store. The eye is relatively good but I wouldn't test the theory that he could tell Chinese from English much less which century. On the plus side it is a country mile better than Continued Life (which supplanted) Still Life (which was Hudson's only worthwhile resource) before it was forced out of business. I have found the place lacking of anything I would ever have bought. My eye is more focused on French, Italian, Chinese, English, Egyptian, German and American circling around 150 to 350 years old. I have had to do a hard pass on this shop each time I searched for...
Read moreRarely if ever open, even with posted hours on the door we’ve stopped by at times when they’re supposed to be opened and there’s been nobody there. Truthfully the few times I’ve managed to go in when someone was there prices were very high. The lack of hours and clear lack of people working doesn’t help the vibe that this place isn’t great.
Edit: after looking into it even further people have mentioned the same issue. Truthfully I don't see the point in this place. Just go to knotty pine & consign as it has far better prices and is...
