I had seen fabulous photos of this place on social media so I thought I’d give it a go, but I was unfortunately disappointed with the food, atmosphere and overall experience. Note: If you’re visiting this place on a weekend, it’s a good idea to make reservations through Open Table. Atmosphere: Noisy and tight seating accommodations. For our anniversary, my husband and I sat at a small table uncomfortably close to other tables, in a small dim lit room. Not very accessible for plus-size people or people in wheelchairs. Food: We ordered the Burger and the S’mores pie (pictured below). The food is pricy, portions are ok, and the taste is ok. The drinks were beautifully crafted, but there are not many beer options. We ordered a couple Hurricane rum cocktails. Parking: We had to find street parking and walk about two blocks to get there. It would be great if there was a designated area for parking for their customers. Service: We had a very friendly waitress (named Isabelle I think?). She was very courteous, sweet & attentive. I hope I have her name tight because I would request to be served by her again if I ever visited a second time. The host was flexible enough to sit us at a table even though I had made reservations for bar seating. The bartender gentleman seemed very knowledgeable Overall- I wouldn’t recommend this place unless they made it more spacious and inclusive for all body types and for people of all abilities. Maybe during the week day it’s...
Read moreThis was such a cool experience. The entry was mysterious, although I really wish the host peaked out the window like in the YouTube video I watched of the place. Found out later the host was actually not a regular employee of the place, so understandable. Our waitress was so attentive and pleasant! She was so on top of clearing our table, offering more drinks, refilling our water, and just being kind in the rush of things. The drinks were so cool and enjoyable..although I only got the ice cream based drink (the grass hopper, I think it was called). Totally recommend! It's sweet, but you can still taste a hint of the whiskey. Moving on to the food: got the pierogi as an appetizer (my furst time, so it was unoque but tasty with the sauce and caramelized onions), the Dan Dan noodles and something with sausage tortellini and broccoli (forgot the name), and the only thing I'd complain about is the Dan Dan noodles..there was just too much noodles and not enough flavor..I watched a video that said how amazing it was so I was excited and then quickly disappointed in the lack of flavor.
Other than that, would go again even with the cost. For 2 people, 3 drinks..1 appetizer..2 entrees..and food left over ro takw home, we spent about 100, so a bit pricey if you go everyday, but not a bad total for a special occassion.
Overall, this hidden gem should definitely be a stop if you...
Read moreVibe and ambience is very cool. Service was good too. I give it a one star due to the host/manager we interacted with on arrival. We were 30-45 minutes late and had tried to call but got through to the ice-cream shop. We know it wasn't the correct phone but were conscious we were late and wanted to at least get word that we were coming (it was after 10pm). The gent that was managing the entrance was unbelievable condescending and rude as he gave us a lecture about how to properly connect using open table etc, and how he had held our table (there were four empty tables and no line...)
I managed restaurants and bars, as did several of the guests in our party. I would never have spoken to guests the way he felt he had to speak to us. We were all young parents on a first night out. We started the night somewhere that went later than we thought but we were excited to try out this place as it was recommended to us. Again, not defending being late as it's bad form, but if you need to give our table away due to our tardiness, that's totally acceptable. Being rude to your...
