Terrible delivery experience. Ordered several drink items (24-pk water, 12-pk sodas) for a professional event, and specified delivery time at 4-5pm. At 4pm, while I was driving to the event venue, I got a message that there was a delay to 6-7pm. As soon as I got to the venue, I called the provided number of the delivery partner, Shipt. I was told that there was no "Shopper" being assiged to do the shopping for the order, but it got resolved and someone would be doing the shopping, so I should expect delivery to be soon. By 5:40pm, I still did not hear from any Shopper. So I called the Shipt number again, and this time, they told that no Shopper had picked up the order yet (and I was like - what? I was told before 5pm that some Shopper would be taking care of the order). Then I was told my order now got "Priority delivery". However, as soon as I hung up the phone (close to 6pm), I got another text message notifying me that the order would be further delayed to 7-8pm. That was totally UNACCEPTABLE!!!
My question is that: IF the delivery is having issues of not being able to find any Shopper to do the shopping for the order, then DO NOT ACCEPT THE ORDER, or, simply CLOSE DOWN THE DELIVERY OPTION for online order. Target and Shipt are terrible at managing this and had totally disrupted our professional meeting plan that evening. I ended up cancelling the order altogether. NEVER would I order any delivery from...
Read moreHyde Park having a Target is awesome! It is not very big inside but has nice small sections of what you need. There is also a Starbucks inside which is nice but, it would have been cooler is their was a local coffee shop inside, i'm just saying! There is already a Starbucks down the street so I don't see the point. Another thing I enjoyed was that is there is a nice Natural Hair care section and even a few travel size Cantu items to choose from. The staff that I interacted with was very friendly and give me feedback on a few items I was not for sure about. One thing that is different then other Targets is that there are a little over five self checkout kiosk, and one person working to ring you out. I think that Target taking the cheap way out by installing self checkout kiosk instead of giving jobs to folks that live in the area is a little bit of a doozy to me.
Hyde Park is an area that has many locals as well as the University of Chicago and could employee many people. However they have taken a cheaper route by getting rid of jobs and saving money by using kiosk mechines. They are also going to be racking up money in another way by selling liquor.
I again and happy that people on the South side are able to shop at Target and don't have to travel all the way North to shop. But, I don't like how jobs are being taken away from people in...
Read moreRecently went in to buy a charger from the electronics area, and I looked around to see if someone was unlocking items in that designated area. I see a young lady w/ small sized braids, glasses, red target shirt and is short, and I asked her “Do you know who’s unlocking items in this area.” She proceeds to ignore me, and goes over to the case to unlock, bro retrieve something for her pick up order she’s doing. I assume she cannot hear me so, I ask again. “Is there anybody working in this area, that can unlock the case for me.” Still ignoring me, finally says “I heard you the first time.” While she’s unlocking/locking the case I’m trying to get something out of. I says “Right I’m asking again, because you’re locking up the case I’m trying to retrieve something from.” She allows me to get something from the case by reopening it , speed walks to the register with the item, because she doesn’t want to walk near me. lol Proceeds to tell the register people “I keep getting stopped by these rude ass customers every time I try to complete a task.” Target let’s not forget customer service first… simple “Yes, I can help you in this area, just give me a second.” Let’s not forget also that a lot of people working, have or still do work in customer service everyday....
