Harold Washington Park is a great place to spend a day with family and friends. The park is located in the Hyde Park community on the South Side of Chicago, Illinois. It is named after the late Harold Washington, the first African-American mayor of Chicago. The park is very family friendly. There is a large playground for children, as well as a picnic area with plenty of space for cookouts. There are also tennis courts and a basketball court. The park is well-maintained and clean. I have visited Harold Washington Park several times. Always have a great time. I alway see kids playing in the playground and a few adults on tennis courts. I also enjoy having picnics in the park. The park is a great place to relax and enjoy the outdoors. Here are some of the pros and cons of Harold Washington Park: Pros: * Family friendly * Plenty of space for cookouts * Playground for kids * Tennis courts * Basketball court * Well-maintained and clean Cons: * Can be crowded on weekends * Some areas of the park are not well-shaded Overall, I would highly recommend Harold Washington Park to families and friends. It is a great place to spend a day outdoors. Here are some additional details about the park: * The park is open from 6am to 11pm daily. * There is no admission fee to the park. * The park is located at 5200 S Hyde Park Blvd, Chicago, Illinois. * The nearest public transportation is the Green Line, which stops at the 51st Street station. * There is no parking available at the park, but there is street parking available in the surrounding neighborhood. I hope this review helps you decide if Harold Washington Park is the right place for you and your family.

A really solid playground for kids, though it could be a bit cleaner. My four year old shouldn't be excited about going around to pick up garbage and throw it away. I like the energy, but that's not what we're there for. Tons of clean equipment for kids though, and the sand pit is a nice touch for days that you don't want to go to the beach. It wouldn't be my first option for playgrounds in Hyde Park, but my son didn't want to leave so we'd eventually come back since he really enjoyed it

This is a very beautiful park...even in the winter. Its has a playground, plenty of benches, a bathroom and access to a bridge you can take to get closer to the lake front. Perfect for exercising or just sitting by the lake to read or just enjoy the breathtaking views.

Still one of the most lovely parks in Hyde Park, with a beautiful children's playlot(under 12) with a Lakefront view, it is safety enclosed by a wrought-iron gate, a few hundred yards away you'll find very impressive tennis court swith mutiple 1st come 1st play courts and friendly people. There are always a group of gentlefolks playing chess on the stationary tables and ready for a friendly game. The park if I remember correctly is a mile if you take 4 turns around which makes for a grand walk there are restaurants and eateries acrossthe street... and the lakefront is just across the bridge Now the down side the parking is on street and very limited. People smoke weed on the benches in the open and drink liquor. So i would give it a 7 on safety as it warrants...

My number one park for an offhand to wheelchair open outing. After a visit to their PCP or in light of the fact that, the young men roll up to the table, I spread out our red decorative liner and lunch is on, under the monstrous oak trees. There's a chess game going. Soneone brings music. What's more, not very far away, a couple lays on a sweeping partaking in a decent read. One more great day with my folks. Partaking in the straightforward life.

Gracious and the should have, an available...
