The sushi is great but the jambalaya was awful this time. It's suppose to be spicy with chicken, shrimp, okra, and turkey andouille sausage. I've had this before and it was great! This time however it was not spicy, no shrimp, no sausage, a little okra, and mostly chicken and celery. The reason I'm leaving this poor review is because of the attitude of one employee named D.J. His attitude could be described as lackadaisical at best and apathetic at worst. I get there can be "bad batches", but at least D.J could of asked "How can I help you?"It feels D.J was personally offended that I called out the bad batch like he knew it was bad. His blaming of the ladle offended me the most and him giving me the okay to leave this review is why you're reading right now. TBH, everyone else is very nice and helpful so still order sushi just watch your soup orders and watch out for...

Came to Hyde Park with the fam, looking for a decent place, and came across this restaurant. My first impression was this place was clean, airy, and had a chill vibe. The food wasn't great- A 15 piece combo was about $32 and it was quite bland looking. The nigiri rice fell apart the moment we wet it with soy sauce and the fish was very thin. It was 9 pieces of nigiri and 6 pieces of the roll. The 3 Tacos were flavorless. The meat wasn't seasoned much and the salsa and tomato didn't help either. The pizza was ok, the crust was very thin and crispy, which the children liked. It looked like a cracker because it was so thin but some people like it, I suppose. The servers were nice but we had to ask for things a few times, which I think should be common when you serve food. I wouldn't go back for...

Cute little Cafe. Was looking for a place that had a gluten free menu while visiting. Server was friendly and knowledgeable and reassured me that they had a seperate prep area and cooked gluten free food on a seperate grill. I ordered the steak sandwich and fruit cup. Little pricey for a sandwich that was more veggie than meat. Fruit had a funny taste to it, maybe because it was out of season. Husband ordered regular steak sandwich as well, it was in a pita. He liked it. Daughter ordered chicken club and thought it was very good. They also gave gluten free dessert. I did not indulge in dessert. Overall, not a bad place to eat. If in Chicago again I would definitely stop in. I have Celiac and did not get sick from eating here, so...

You've got to be kidding me, this sushi is so delicious. I saw salmon, green onions, asparagus, and said Who wouldn't! What?!? Genius. This Hyde Park sushi roll must look amazing once pulled-out of the tempura fryer. Wow. Please think about wrapping your Hyde Park with foil to keep it hot for delivery. And definitely get a side of the mango mayo or two or three. Re: The sauces and the chef's taste buds! And imagination! Wow. Wow! Yum. This is satisfying. The fragrance of the jalapeño mayo sauce is exquisite. And, open since 2008? The days I've needed you! I ordered through Ubereats. Holy yum. ❤️

Spent 70$ and ate only 10$ worth..... sushi tasted old... couldn't even finish it because of some odd taste and smell. I deconstructed it to see what it was but it had to be the fish. As you can see in the picture. We had a sandwich (which shouldn't belong on a sushi menu along with pizza but what ever). It tasted like canned chicken (like metal. We didn't finish anything. 4 sushi rolls and 1 sandwich and nothing got finished.... I go for the 16-20$ rolls but this place wasn't worth 5 for one roll. Fix the menu and focus on one goal. Trying to please everybody isn't working.

A true gem in Hyde Park! If you haven’t been, you’re missing out. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. I highly recommend sitting at the bar—you get to watch the sushi chefs in action, which adds to the experience. The jambalaya to start was excellent, packed with flavor. As for sushi, you must try the Super Crunchy, Feisty Flamingo, Chicago Fire, and Yellowtail rolls—every single one was absolutely delicious. Can’t wait to come back!
