I hadn’t been to The Rink in at least 15 years and decided to go one night. I was very disappointed to see that the Rink had not been updated in all those years and is now in horrible conditions. The parking lot, filled with huge potholes, is still gravel and not paved like it should be. Then as I walk in and turn to the lockers, they are the very same ones and are simply deplorable. All the locks have just about been removed, I’m guessing from getting stuck or not locking. Had to call a worker twice just to lock/unlock ours. The carpet is tattered and thoroughly worn down and in need of renewing. Last but certainly not least OMG the Skating floor!!!! What in the world is happening?? I can’t even describe how horrible it has gotten and the fact that it’s still being allowed to be used is beyond me. It’s jagged and uneven all the way around. Forget doing any skate moves on this one end of the floor. You literally have to see it for yourself to see what I’m talking about. But oh I forgot, there was one update in that they added a mini steppers floor in the corner. Come on Rink. Your people, family and friends deserve to skate in a place that reflects a little dignity. I’ve always loved the Rink and have very fond memories as a youngster but the first thing my friend said when we came that day is, “we can’t come here every week.” That made me sad. Please do some remodeling, starting with the major key of skating.... the...
Read moreI visited The Rink for the first time this week and here's what I'll say. This rink is more so a playground for highly skilled skaters who bring their own skates. If you rent skates, you'll be redirected to the circle in the middle of the floor or the practice floor (both very limiting, space wise). They advertise their skating lessons so that you work your way up to buying skates from them and then becoming advanced like the regulars that seem to go often. I see what people are saying too about the customer service. The owner's attitude was really off-putting at first, but thankfully my friend and I ended up having a conversation with him and seeing a softer side. All in all, if you're looking for a family-friendly activity or you're less experienced, I wouldn't recommend this spot. But watching the pros on the floor dancing & skating is fascinating and they play great music, so we made the...
Read moreI first started coming here back in the 90's as a teen and I started back coming on Sundays during the Gospel skate when I'm off from my job. The atmosphere is nice and family oriented which I love. The lovely couple is always welcoming and Inviting. Pretty much everyone who's with this establishment has been nice and friendly. Lady J and her husband who's the dj are a sweet couple. I love the gospel music and prayer time with the nice Bible verses 🙏🏼 The raffles that consist of nice gifts/prizes are nice. I was in attendance today and they had school supplies for the kids and nice prizes during the raffle. They had gifts for me and this young man which was amazing 👏🙌🏼 I was not expecting that 🙂 Very cool. Once again thank you and I love my gift😊 I have to remind myself to not wash my car before I come here because the parking lot dust and debris will dirty it up 😉 Guys the parking lot needs a...
