A must visit when in Idyllwild! Even if you’re not in the market for a hat, go for the experience and the awesome locals. My best friend and I visited while on a day trip and spent hours playing the with all the hats while I created my first ever hat with Gemma. They’re incredibly patient and helpful. I’m obsessed with my hat and everyone asks where I got it from. I love that it’s unique to me. My friend wanted a specific hat and we said we’d come back on her birthday to buy that hat for her. Unfortunately she lost her home and everything in it to the old Angeles wildfires 1 week after we visited. I wanted to find a way to give her a belonging that had a memory tied to it from before the fire as everything new became ‘fire things’. I called Gemma and she made so much effort to help us get something perfect for my friend and she shipped it to us. The service and attention to detail both in person and virtually is so impeccable. They really care and have so much knowledge. Go for the experience!...

My girlfriend and I visited Idyllwild this past weekend and had such a wonderful time. The hikes, the mountains, the people, the vibe and the food! It’s such a great, artistic, friendly mountain town. We were going to Waffelton to get some beverages and waffles (so good) and noticed this cool hat shop next door. We walked in and immediately felt the awesome friendly family fun vibe in Hallolokx. It is so cool! You get to design your own hat by choosing the style, patches and charms. We ended up making a hat for a friend of ours back in San Diego! See attached.

We also spent some time with Gemma and got the story of how her and her family ended up in Idyllwild. It’s a really cool and inspirational story.

This shop is incredible, a hidden gem. They have great quality hats, all the extras you can think of to design it to be exactly you, and not to mention the price is a no brainer. I was not in the market for a hat but I couldn't help but get this beautiful yellow one. I LOVE supporting businesses that are ran by heart-centered leaders and this family is just that. They are so down to earth and a family full of creatives. I'm grateful I found this spot and will be coming back here when I need another hat...
