I have been going here for 40 years and it's still the same. Such a good thing! All the candy you remember from your childhood! Plus frozen treats like shaved ice and hand dipped ice cream bars. Small and quaint and top notch. Patty we will always miss you. It's the legacy of a wonderful woman.

As you can see by the comment below...the place is still family owned and operated by the original family that started the business. Patty's daughter has added a few improvements without losing that "kid in a candy shop" feeling you get when you walk in. Best snow cones on the planet due to Patty's prize ice shaver...it really is unbeatable they don't make them like this anymore. Also old fashioned triple dipped and coated in toppings of your choice ice cream bars. I wish I could give this place 10 stars. We miss you Patty but you are living on thru candy. My family and I walked into this shop fully intending on purchasing ice cream and candy. After walking into the shop so my 87 year old mother could look inside and see what sweets she would like, we decided with the space being so small that we would sit her on the benches outside while my daughter and I ordered for the rest of us. In the time that my daughter was holding the door so my mother could exit the store, the girl working behind the counter, in an extremely rude manner said "can you shut the door we have the AC on?" What can I say besides we Love this place!!!!! Every time we come to Idyllwild we have to stop for our sweets!!!! We start by buying the candies you don’t usually find at the stores..we get our Pop Rocks, and our Chick o Sticks...then we order an old fashioned Ice Cream bar dipped in fresh chocolate and top it with almonds and sprinkles! It is so Delicious and big enough to share! And don’t forget to order a Caramel Apple for the drive... they dip the apple into this semi sweet fresh caramel! They cut it up for you and place it in a box and you can feel the warmth of the caramel... oh so Delicious, so...
