Handmade At The Lake — Local services in Incline Village-Crystal Bay

I am absolutely in shock with the store’s owner. She was outrageous and disrespectful to my family. She made a scene in front of every customer shopping in the store. Not only did she make a scene in front of her constomers but in front of my 1 year nephew. We were yelled at for using an OPEN restroom. There was no sign saying we couldn’t use this restroom and the door was open giving the impression we were able to use it. After someone in our family had CLOSED the door and was fiddling with the lock on the door, the woman who owned the store OPENED the door while someone was inside the bathroom and told her she was unwelcome to use it. We were told to “go somwhere else” and that we “should always ask permission to use someone’s bathroom.” It is a public company with no sign requesting we refrain from using this bathroom. The way we were spoken to and looked down upon during this event in the day was incredibly embarrassing and I will NEVER be going back into that store.

I would very much like to add that if you enjoy the store, great! You are YOUR OWN PERSON! But bashing my family because we had a terrible experience at this store is 100% NOT OKAY!! You have your opinion and we have ours. Just because you think you’re right, does NOT mean that you are. You weren’t there to see what happened so please keep your negative comments to yourself. We have manners and telling us to “go home until you learn some manners” is very rude and disrespectful. We didn’t do anything wrong prior to some beliefs. And no, we are not tourists. The owner of this store yelled at us for using a open bathroom. There were no signs to tell us to not use the restroom. The door was open and the light was on. My sister in law went in and shut the door just to have the owner open the door and yell at her saying she cannot use her restroom.
