The Gateway — Local services in Independence Charter Township

I was a little underwhelmed I went there to order flowers for my sister's funeral. I looked at the options online, but I wanted to see what they had. The only flowers were four inch pots for planting outside in front of the building..

The layout is super confusing. I walked all over and because I didn't see any flowers, I had to ask.

The lady was very nice, but just looked them up online. They didn't have the vase that was advertised online in that was pink. . They didn't have a specific flower in the right color, which was also in the online description.

I went ahead and ordered them because I was already there and I didn't have allot of time. I wasn't impressed with the arrangement. It was super small and was over 100.00. I don't know how they are listed as a florist... Kroger has tons of fresh flowers and they don't advertise as a florist.

I discovered the gateway a few years ago when I needed to send flowers to a very dear friend on her birthday. Since I haven't lived in Michigan in many years I was making a guess when searching for a local florist. I found the gateway was very near where my friend lives. So I went ahead and ordered. The designer created a stunning fresh cut flower arrangement. My friend was so surprised and absolutely loved her flowers. I've since used their wonderful service multiple times for a variety of occasions. Sadly, most recently, a classmate and friend passed away. Wedding planning during a pandemic is chaotic at best, and when last minute florals for my daughter's wedding were needed, I contacted the Gateway Florist and was immediately assisted. Shari was great at understanding our needs for a large floral arch and offered several different options. Additionally, she was able to take on table arrangements and additional floal pieces for the reception with very little notice. The floral arch was fantastic and everyone commented on how beautiful it was. The arrangements were extremely fresh and all deliveries were made with no issues.
