I'm a very open-minded, educated, and easy going person. I don't hold any business to exceptionally high standards as I have worked many customer service jobs before and I know the days can get long doing that type of work. Although, I would expect much better service from a business that is in the heart of downtown Clarkston. First of all, when I walked into the store with my mountain bike the only gal I could see working was on the phone behind the counter and did not even acknowledge me when I walked in, even after I walked right in front of her! Annoyed by this I waited for about 4 minutes until another employee finally came from the back to assist me. Being a bicycle shop I would expect their merchandise stock to be vast, this is was not. I needed a new seat and a seat post and also large pedals. The male employee seemed very bored by my request and when I asked him if they tune gears he said yes... but "we won't be able to look at it until about 2-3 weeks." I'm sorry but no matter what bicycle shop you are... A 2-3 week wait is unacceptable. If you have this many customers you should be able to afford another employee on the payroll to make the completion time of bicycle maintenance at least slightly realistic. After that, the employee showed me cheap plastic pedals that I already had on my bike and tried to sell them to me for an outrageous price. ($25) [you can get much better quality pedals online for 1/2 the price]. When I asked him what saddles he has he was only able to show me one that was ($45) again outrageous! And the stock is in the back so you can't browse the items yourself, you are at the jeopardy of the salesman/woman. What really put my experience over the top (not in a good way) is after being subjected to all these outrageous prices and complete lack of quality merchandise, a cat rubbed up against my leg... I'm allergic. This shop should be required to post a sign as to warn those with cat allergies before entering. I immediately left after this and neither of the two employees provided me with any sort of apology or even a "have a good day". The staff is very rude and they do not seem motivated to get their customers what they need. I took my bike to sports authority the next day to tune the gears and I bought a very nice saddle, seat post, and pedals on amazon. Installed it myself and now I have a very reliable mountain bike to hit the trails with.
--------------------SUMMARY: Kinetic Systems Inc is a bust! Don't waste your time. Outrageous prices, lack of merchandise, outrageous waiting list to get bike serviced, employees have very poor attitudes, and shop is NOT allergy friendly (they...
Read moreInteresting to read the other positive reviews on this bike shop. Might be a difference in their target audience or customer but I went in for some suggestions on options for upgrades on my bike and the information provided by the mechanic was simply not accurate and inconsistent with that provided by the manufacturer to which they are an authorized dealer. Beyond that, when I questioned them, they were not only rude but dismissive. I have since found three other bike shops supporting accurate information consistent with Salsa. One of which isn't even a salsa dealer. Very disappointed but happy to know that my money will now go to a knowledgeable and...
