This place should be permanently closed to the public. Built-up dirt and dust everywhere you turn. Small neighborhood store with nothing much to offer. Produce: you have a choice between wilted lettuce, limp jalapeños, squishy bell peppers, dusty apples, unripened pears, moldy raspberries or strawberries, and my personal favorite, fermented pineapple (yummy!!). Moving on to dairy: better check those expiration dates, as they like to sell milk at least 5 days after printed "Best by" dates, cheese which has somehow began to grow its own mold 🤷 ??? Canned and boxed foods have so much dust caked on them, there's no surprise when you find it to be expired or on the verge. Decent selection of day-old breads. And finally, frozen foods which after getting it home, you discover, have been kept in such a climate that the food itself is no longer a food at all but has become one with freezer-burn, completely inedible. Where's the Health Department when you need it??? All food is available at slightly discounted prices, until you hit the register where you are charged a 10% increase to your total bill. How'd I save? I didn't. But felt like a winner in the end by not getting...
Read moreI was totally disrespected today at this store , and will not be going back! I stopped in to grab a few items and with some of my health issues I asked a couple stock person's if they had the restroom open and was told to ask the lady up front for the key, leading me to think this would not be a problem, when I asked for the key the lady looked at me and said I could not use the restroom because of vandalism, I then explained that I'm 50 yrs old with health issues and have a cart with items I intend on buying and would never do anything to the restroom , she still refused after I was told I could ask for a key, I left after I seen I was the only person of color in the store and that was probably the reason, she said that was the managers rule so I asked to speak with she said she was assistant manager and it was the owners rule, I asked for the owners number she said it was the stores number, I asked around if anyone has shopped here and more than one said they charge a surcharge on top of taxes , they said that is how they keep prices down , what a joke ! Do not shop here if you want to be treated with respect and as a paying Customer . Sad that this still...
Read moreIt's great to have a local grocery store. I'm not a fan of their pricing scheme: they put all their stock out at their base price and then charge you an additional 10% profit margin. It just means you have to do a little extra math before you can judge the actual cost.
How would you ever be able to tell that you're being charged more than 10% markup?
Some things have the price as part of the packaging. Guess how much a $2 bag of chips cost? You might think "they will be marked down, because there's no way the chip maker would sell a grocer a bag of chips for $2 and expect them to sell it without any profit margins"
$2.20 110% of sticker price, rain or shine. It's their gimick: "cash savers, you pay more, but in theory save a lot, because groceries mark up by 100% and we claim to mark up 10% except when you can tell were lying, and we don't care"
I don't want to be mean. It's a grocery store. It doesn't have potential. It's owned by someone who sees money in bank accounts, not the slow and steady decay of neglect. Their marketing is insulting under the slightest scrutiny, but thankfully limited to the interior...
