Stop and Shop 1 — Local services in Independence

I had a very strange experience here. I was trying to shop local. I was looking for coffee creamer and sugar. They had baking soda, baking powder, coffee (regular & decaf) stick butter, cream cheese, jelly, it was exactly like a tiny grocery that had 1 of everything. I got a bag of sugar and searched for coffee creamer. I'd more or less decided to just grab some chocolate milk and call it good but when I opened the wall cooler it was HOT. Not just not as cold as I would have liked or kind of "room temperature" it was HOT. If it were summer I could have wrapped my mind around it but it was 16° outside. Why? How? I was having a hard time keeping my house at 65°! I asked if they carried coffee creamer; apparently they just don't. Put the sugar back. Almost burned my leg on the stick of incense which is weirdly close to the ground near the door and...
