Harbor Freight — Local services in Independence

I went in to buy a Miter Saw for $250 ish. They had none on the floor so I asked a cashier and she said they are looking in the back since the app said there was one in stock. I go looking around because I was going to buy a table stand for the Miter Saw and a few other things. I make my way up to the cashier and she points to a box that is tore up. I mean the box was literally falling apart and the white foam packing supplies to keep it safe was everywhere. The cashier said this is all they had left and for me to go through the box to make sure everything was there. I asked her if I was going to get a discount for being a open trashed box, if I bought it the white stuffing would get all over my car and she told me no. The manager said no discount. I said ok. I’ll go buy the Miter Saw elsewhere. Which I did. Home Depot is now my place for power tools or tools. I use to shop Harbor Freight all the time and my work buys or use to buy from HF almost weekly. Not only did your employees NOT go through the box to make sure everything was there before attempting to sell it to a paying customer but not to get any type of discount for the shape of the box. Normally the service at this location is fairly good but today that wasn't the case. Today I went into the store and found the first few item on my shopping list without a problem. I started looking for an aluminum D-Ring. I walked all over that store and seen several employees stocking merchandise and even stopped and scanned the aisles looking for those D-Rings and not one employee asked me if I needed help. I finally asked the cashier and she asked another employee and she told me they were either on aisle 4 or on the back wall. I did not find them back there in either of those places or a empty spot where they might have been. I gave up looking and headed for the cashier and while waiting in line there they were on the display area around the check stand. My complaint might sound petty to some and they are entitled to feel that way. I have a bum leg and I experience a certain amount of discomfort when I have done excessive walking. It is very obvious I'm handicapped because I wear a leg brace on the outside of my clothing and I have a very distinctive limp when I walk. Next time I will shop at...

Okay let start with this, why would you spend more money on a tool that you are only going to use once maybe 2 times a year. HF has greatly improved thier quality of tools over the years and I wouldn't hesitate picking up a tool from them. They also now have 3 differant lines of power tools and thier top of the line brand actually beats a lot of the big brands in head to head competitions. Now I'm not saying it beats Milwaukee or DeWalt but it does beat some of the others. What really nice is that they will stand behind their products as well, unlike DeWalt sometimes here lately. Just do everyone a favor and keep the receipt, that way you don't hold up the line and they will be able to take care of you so much faster. I just put it in the case or bag or whatever I purchased that I might have a concern with. Their selection is huge and you can't beat getting a free moving blanket or tarp with purchase.
