Re-cell Electronics — Local services in Independence

First experience was nice, customer service seemed good. I was able to hold and turn on the switch and they had a nice variety of Switch’s to choose from so that was nice.

I purchased a Nintendo Switch from Re-cell and the gentleman that assisted me allowed me to check it out, everything was in working order so I made my purchase… ( I bought this for my son on Friday for his birthday on Sunday) on Sunday afternoon I opened the carrying case and to my surprise was immediately hit with the strong scent of cat urine! (No I do not own a cat) Me being very optimistic I wiped every nook and cranny with an alcohol wipe and even vinegar. The smell is dormant on the switch itself and even the charger.. As far as the carrying case, I can not say the same. TRASH.

Early Monday morning I called to speak with the MGR, not for a refund or an exchange but to just advise he should maybe take a better look at the things he sells.. The person who answered was less than apologetic and advised he would “pass this info down the food chain.” Be sure to take an extra look and maybe even sniff the items you’re looking at...

I was referred to this store by one of their employees (Elijah). He had posted a Nintendo Switch on Facebook marketplace for sale via his personal Facebook account for $150, this price was a little steep considering you can get a factory refurbished one from Nintendo directly for the same price. I asked Elijah about the condition and he told me it was in great condition, I also asked him if the price was negotiable? He just replied “maybe”, whatever that means. He then Just said $140 and provided me the address of the store. Upon visiting the store there was a sign on the display case that said “switch lite - $120”. Still, I asked to look at the switch that was pictured in the marketplace ad, to my surprise it was in pretty rough condition. Elijah, then told me they had a nicer one but it had just sold. But this was the exact one pictured that he’d previously told me me was in great shape.

As far as the store goes, they do have a huge selection but it doesn’t seem they make any effort to clean or recondition anything that they have. The staff was friendly enough, however...

GO ANYWHERE ELSE! THESE PEOPLE ARE THIEVES!!! We took in a bag of some old electronics we were getting rid of when moving. They took our name and number and said they would call us back after sorting through with how much they could offer us. They called in a few hours and said they could give $250 for the old game systems and controllers but my wife’s MacBook they could only do for parts at $75 because they can’t get into since it was still locked to her Apple ID. I said the $250 is fine but absolutely not on the MacBook we will come back and unlock it. When my wife went back the stuff was gone including her MacBook that they said they had parted out and sold and had no idea where her duffel bag was. They flat out REFUSED to pay us for the property they LITERALLY STOLE from us!!! We are currently pursuing legal action and can not believe this place is still open but please stay far away from...
