My dr sent a prescription for eye drops to cvs on 1/16/25 in the afternoon after my 1:20 pm video visit. I checked the cvs app & it said it would be ready around 6 pm. I never got a text so I checked the app & it said it wasn’t filled bc it wasn’t picked up. What??? So I go to the pharmacy and the guy said they’re out of it and someone must have hit the back to stock instead of out of stock button. I told them they should have notified me if they were out of stock, and they said yes they should have. They also said they might be getting it in the next day but that I could go to another pharmacy and get Pataday which is OTC and the same exact ingredient. Too bad it’s also 3x the price of what the prescription would be. I left and went to Harris teeter to get Pataday, but never told the cvs pharmacist to cancel the order for my prescription. I still haven’t heard from them 2 days later, and the app still says it wasn’t filled due to it being returned to stock for not being picked up. So after my conversation with them telling them I was upset that they put the wrong status for the medicine, they never even changed the status so it still says Return to Stock.
If this were the only time they messed up, fine, but it’s not. Last month on 12/22/24, I was prescribed a different drop for pink eye and was miserable and needed the drops asap. The dr submitted it to cvs in the evening so I knew I wouldn’t get it till the morning. So I checked the app in the morning, probably around 9:30 and the app said it wouldn’t be ready until the following day, 12/24. I was so upset because pink eye is miserable and I needed that medicine. I called the pharmacy and had to leave a message (you can’t ever speak to anyone unless they call you back). When he finally called me back he said he didn’t know why the app said it wouldn’t be ready till 12/24. He said he’d have it ready in an hour. It was ready in about an hour and a half, but if I hadn’t called to complain it probably wouldn’t have gotten done.
Also, I’ve told this pharmacy at least 3 times to stop putting my Fluticasone on auto refill every month because I don’t use it that much. They refuse to listen and keep doing it. Last time they texted me about it, they used the acronym “Flo” instead of “Flu” as if they were trying to get him to approve Flonase, which he probably wouldn’t have since it’s so much more costly. Anyway, they also kept saying my dr wouldn’t respond to them. Then all of a sudden it finally got approved after I told them it’s Fluticasone not Flonase.

Which is understandable there's only been a few times where I've ventured elsewhere to get my medication I usually will just wait until it's back in stock it normally doesn't take a whole lot longer. But here recently the customer service has been aweful. On top of that I don't know if cvs system or policies or whatever have changed but they're unrealistic. My Dr sent a prescription over but because of cvs' system they would not allow me to fill it. I called another pharmacy explained the situation and the pharmacist was extremely understanding and basically told me that they would not do what cvs was doing to me. I asked her if she has sent anyone over to help me with a passport picture she said it’s just two of them so she was assisting other customers as they come after me and not even trying to help me the other guy that was cleaning the register said it was just two of them and that their camera was lost.
