The best thing about the restaurant was that it seemed clean.
We were seated, then the waitress left the table. She didn't ask us for our drink order until a while later. She asked what we wanted to drink, and as soon as my husband began to speak, she walked away to her next table to tell them something, then came back, never apologized, and got the order. She came back a few minutes later, no drinks, and set down her notepad with the back facing up, "well, we're out of all of these right now" and hit the book with her hand. I immediately wanted to walk out, because it was more than ten major items. No bread products, out of many vegetables, etc. She eventually came back to get our food order and for mine, I asked for a side of steamed vegetables, asking her to let me know if they had cauliflower in them (I can't have it). Our appetizer came, she literally almost threw it on the table and walked away, two of the four of us were almost out of our drinks and needed more, and she still hadn't told me if the vegetables had cauliflower in them, so I assumed they didn't and they were cooking them. All of our food came, but my salad was completely wrong, like just the lettuce was correct, and the vegetables were not there. She asked if everything looked correct and I told her about the salad. My mother-in-law's was also wrong and had bacon on it. She doesn't eat meat, and when we asked what was on the salad, the waitress said it was just tomato, onion, and croutons. She never mentioned bacon. We asked for replacement salads, and she brought some. My replacement salad was still incorrect, but I just took out what I didn't want and ate it for fear it would never be correct. My mother-in-law's came out and the lettuce was very very old. It should have never left the kitchen. She asked that it be taken off the bill. The rest of the food came out cold, the sauces for the wings my husband and father-in-law ordered were both wrong, also cold.
Basically: Waitress didn't seem to know what she was doing/didn't seem to care Food was not good, also cold (not room-temp, but cold), and incorrect
We dined at 6pm on a Sunday, and there were maybe four tables lightly full in the entire restaurant. If this isn't a sign of how their business is, then I don't know what's it going to take for the restaurant to realize they need help. I've worked in food before, and it's not that hard. When food leaves the kitchen, it needs to be correct. When the order is being taken, the server needs to pay full attention to the customer and not make the restaurant look bad by saying they're out of food, but also how that is said. She was blunt and when my mother-in-law nicely asked her salad be taken off of the bill, the waitress was very rude. She asked if we wanted the manager to come out, but honestly, there was no salvaging...
Read moreWe know this location just opened and figured we would go support our new local business. We decided to do a to go order. We ordered 4 items and as we were ordering we thought it was a bit strange that the waitress or hostess was writing down the order instead of inputting it into the POS system, but what did we know. After she repeated our order back to us, all seemed good. They told us it would be 15-20 minutes wait, which is not unreasonable. They did deliver on this wait time. While we were waiting there were 5 other orders picked up, of these 5, 3 were not accurate not including the 1 person who returned his food although not quite sure of the reason. We paid, and brought our food home. We had ordered an order of wings (10) with blue cheese, tater tots, a flat bread, and a chicken sandwich. We should of checked this order, but we didn't. Shame on us. We got home and to our surprise the flatbread was not included, nor were we charged for it for whatever reason. No harm no foul really, except we did order it and it was written down. When checking the receipt over we noted that they charged $0.65 for the blue cheese. Really, this was the piece that broke the bank, not the $0.65 but the principal of it. I decided to call and talk to the manager about my issues, first phone call, I got disconnected while holding for a manager. The second phone call (immediately after the first) I was told there was no manager in the store but he or she would be in tomorrow (I will be calling). Again, REALLY. I know this is not the case, someone there is in charge to take care of the customers, or at least I would think there was. The food was ok, nothing great, but the service and the idea of taking care of the customer is definitely lacking. It is nothing special and based on this visit we will not be returning. There are better wings in the area, and definitely better service pretty...
Read moreI have eaten at East Coast Wings in Indian Trail a few times, and we order online for takeout at least a couple times a month. One thing has become very apparent, the food is good, but the service and attention to detail is not. Every time we have eaten in the restaurant the service is inexplicably slow, which can be excruciating when you have young children.
Tonight when I was picking up my online order I couldn't get anyone to help me at the hostess stand. I noticed a number of young ladies gossiping at the bar, but they never acknowledged me. Finally a young man came over and assisted me.
My biggest issue is when we order online as whoever is checking these orders is not paying attention. For example, we just placed an order tonight and my wings had the wrong sauce, and there was almost none of it present on the wings. The saucing of the wings in general is really inconsistent when ordering takeout, this isn't the first time this has happened. The texas toast which was supposed to be included with our wings was also missing. If I was in the restaurant I would just send my order back to have it corrected, but it is really frustrating when you notice these issues after arriving home from a long commute and just want to sit down to a nice relaxing dinner.
UPDATE 1/9/19 - My wife wanted to get wings and insisted we give East Coast another chance. This was another takeout order which was very similar to the last one which prompted my initial review. Everything was executed perfectly this time, and I truly hope this is a sign of improvement. I was also contacted by restaurant management regarding my experience, which was appreciated.
Due to my more recent positive experiences I will be increasing the...
