First time I have been here since change of owner (and name). Here is exactly how great of an experience I had (as a new customer). Sat down at the bar... The bartender was nice and quick to ask what I would like. I replied a draft beer and menu please.... I got the menu quickly... However never received my drink. There were only maybe 6 or 7 people in the entire place.... So I continued to wait and wait for my beer.... About 10 minutes later after sitting there I left.... I had put my menu down literally 30 seconds after receiving it as I knew what I wanted. She (the bartender) had walked passed me at least 7 or 8 Times.... Not once did she ask if I was ready to order or if I would care for a drink (which I already ordered 10 min prior). Now I'm not one to give ratings online bcuz it seems a little bias. However this was just plain unbelievable. I watched her shooting the s**t with three or four different people for a while.... Then watched her watch TV for a minute or so... Watched about 2 other managers and helpers zipping around for a bit and STILL no acknowledgement what so ever. Needless to say.... If I can't be served when literally I was 1 of 6 or 7 people at the bar for over 10 minutes then I most certainly will NOT be going back anytime soon.... Not will I recommend to anyone to boot. Note to staff.... LISTEN to your paying customers.... And maybe show some interest in helping them out by doing your job rather than using work as a "high school" chatter club. Management.... Maybe it's time to take notice as well... Of the customers needing assistance if your staff is overwhelmed. Just coming from one business owner to another. Its to bad too... Because I was REALLY looking forward to a nice cold beer and the shrimp Alfredo dinner. To be fair.... She (the bartender) was very quick to ask if I needed anything as soon as I set down.... And she was polite, But after the first 30 seconds I might as well have hid under a table outside.... Because that's how visable I was to EVERYONE behind the bar. Nice work guys....

We tried a variety of Shared Plates - everything was quite good!
My opinion only - the calamari was a bit chewy it was not tender - but the flavor was fine, texture a bit different than what you would expect from an Italian restaurant calamari experience. That may be what they were shooting for - but the calamari wasn’t tender soft it was over cooked.
However the rest of the food came out fast, quality was totally fine.
I loved the fried green tomatoes and fried pickles! Just all around good quality and good quantity Comfort Food.
Overall?
I highly recommend them for good solid comfort food. Excellent server experience, good price for quantity and quality and they - this is my own personal opinion- they get an A for consistency from me.
Why? Because they have been just that - consistent throughout the pandemic - always erring on the side of caution for their employees even if it meant they lost a few customers.
I saw this time and again in social media the last year+ so while I didn’t eat out? They always put their staff first ahead of anyone not wearing a mask for example. They, yes enforced it and were respectful but consistent. Loved that. (I have loved ones in food service at other establishments)
For ME - maybe not for you? They get my patronage for being courageous and stalwart in spite of criticism for well, whatever reason.
Having said all of that? I’m soooo happy to find that they weathered the storm and kept staff and quality upon coming out of Covid!
We enjoyed all our food, other than texture of calamari the flavor was on point for everything else.
Loved our server - Brianna (my daughter is Brianna am I partial? Maybe 😂)
Highly recommend a meal out to The Trail House for good comfort food, close to home, for a decent price and experience.
Good job Trail House...
Read moreThis was my first experience at Trail House and unfortunately it was my last. I have worked in the service industry going on 7 years now so I know how it is. But this was by far one of the worst experiences I have had at a restaurant. I am trying to be understanding since most places are short staffed due to this pandemic but that doesn’t mean the service needs to be horrible. When we arrived it took 5 minutes before a hostess even saw us standing at the host stand. Then once we got seated it was another 10 minutes before anyone even greeted us. Once we we’re greeted, we gave the waitress our drink and food order at the same time. Well the drinks took over 20 minutes to come from the bar and then the food took another 30 minutes after that. My friends husband got the strawberry cheesecake martini and it had a hair in it. When we flagged the waitress down to tell her she didn’t even come over to the table she just said okay and walked away. Few minutes later she brought a drink to the table. It wasn’t even the drink that had the hair in it and when she realized her mistake she said “well damn” and walked away. If she had just come over to the table she would have known which drink needed to be replaced. My friend ordered the fettuccine Alfredo and once it got to the table it was already cold. The manager didn’t even check on us until after the plates had been cleared from the table. The waitress then tried making excuses as to why everything was so horrible. I will not...
