My mom went in to buy a new heating element, when she got home and put it in, it lit up and worked fine. Within 30 minutes it stopped working. She called back in and was told it was the control panel, and to bring it in. She called the following morning and was told that the guy who does repairs was at the bank and to call back.
She gave some time and called back and was told that the same worker was now at lunch, and that he was not sure if he could get to the panel. This was at 1pm and they closed at 6pm.
On 4/18 she takes the control panel in, the man who does the repairs checks it and sees nothing wrong. He tells her to find the receipt for the heating element and bring it in, and then they could warranty it out. The following day she takes the element back in, along with her receipt, and Jay says that she needs to bring the control panel in with a very hostile demeanor.
She was trying to explain to him that she was there yesterday and talked to him, he felt the need to interrupt and talk over her. His partner said to him, ālet her talk,ā and then he remembered that he spoke to my mom the previous day.
He plugged the element in and said it was warm, he had her feel it and it was warm, but it does not guarantee that it will get warm enough to cook food. She asked if she could swap the element for a new one, and he said āno, because thereās nothing wrong with it.ā He suggested that she go on Amazon and buy a relay, and he would put it on.
Sheās driven 2 days in a row, 30 minutes, one way to this repair shop. His partner suggested that mice could have chewed through the wires on the control panel. Sensing the racial stereotype being placed onto her, as he just assumed she had mice, even though in the 7 years of us living in this after we had it built, we have never seen mice.
She was told Jay has been doing this for 30 years, maybe itās time for him to retire.
I would give a -5 rating, but one is the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHad or have a Frididaire upright freezer problem. I took 2 parts with me that I had googled as a possible problem and they convinced me those weren't the problem. So I went home and reinstalled them and turned back on with no "turning on". So I took out the control (on/off) temperature thingy and took to them. Terry tested it and said he was sure that it was no good. So I bought one and installed it and "voila" freezer appears to be working. Will know more tomorrow for sure. But even if not, I know that this part was bad. They also suggested I buy a thermometer for the freezer but they didn't carry it so they told me where I could buy one. And I did and we'll see what it says in the morning.
I started there with 1 letter missing out of the model number so I caused them some confusion as to what I could need. Luckily after I called my wife and she quit screaming at me i convinced her to look for the correct model number. After that, everything was fine and dandy.
I wish they were closer to where I live. There is another parts place I've used for a good number of years and they're good also. And they're closer. But if I need a part and for someone to test it, this is where I'd go. N//E side of Indy! ...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have low-end Frigidaire oven that had gone through 2 control boards (bake element wouldn't come on) and a third that was having the same issue. I called around to see if anybody had the part, and when I talked with All Appliance Parts, they asked I few questions about my board and told me that Frigidaire has a particular problem with these board's soldering, and if I wanted to bring it in, they could check it and quickly fix.
Nobody else had told me these boards have issues, so I decided before I bought ANOTHER board I would take it to them.
Sure enough, the soldering around the bake element pin on the board was just gone. Probably 30 minutes later (I went early in the morning when they weren't busy), and $30, the board was fixed!
I can't attest to anything else, but just that they had a clue what was wrong and offered an inexpensive fix (which I probably could have done myself), that gives them multiple thumbs up and 5...
