Eckstein Shoe Store — Local services in Indianapolis

We started going to Eckstein's a few years ago because my wife's podiatrist recommended them. I had no intention of buying there because I figured a small shop like that would be too expensive, but I found out no, they were the same as DSW. How many times have you looked for shoes and either they don't have the shoe you like, or have it, but not in your size? Oh, and try and find somebody to help. So instead of going from store to store trying to find a shoe that fits and sometimes coming home with something that hurts my feet, all I have to do at Eckstein's is call in first and see if they have my shoes in stock, and if not they will order it in and all I have to do is go pick them up. The other thing is one of the shoes they carry is New Balance, and since I have been wearing them I have not had any problems with my feet. I used to have to go to Stout’s shoes downtown because I have a very narrow foot and I couldn’t find anything at regular shoe stores... then... I discovered this store!! What a GREAT PLACE TO SHOP FOR SHOES!!!! They are also one of the few SHOE REPAIR stores in Indy. I have purchased several pairs of shoes here over the years and have brought purses and shoes here for repair. Whatever they don’t have in stock they will order and Jim can repair just about anything! Unfortunately, they do not carry children’s shoes but that does not negate their PROFESSIONALISM and DOWN HOME PERSONAL SERVICE!!! GO THERE for your next pair of shoes or shoe repair. Had them repair 2 shoes and clean the same 2 plus 2 others. The leather ones I didn't think could really be fixed so when they didn't make any improvements on it, it wasn't a big deal. The color of the leather completely changed with the cleaning. Actually looked pretty good. The other repair was done fairly pathetic. The back heel fabric needed resewed back to the back of the shoe. Completely visieand only done on one side. Cleaning was good on it. After these I figured I would only come here for cleaning.

The next two shoes were white under armour shoes. Mine was done fine although $35 to clean some teens shoes seemed a bit expensive.
