Indy Bait & Tackle — Local services in Indianapolis

This shop is nice and clean and well stocked. They have just about any live bait you could want. The owner and workers are pleasant and helpful. Their prices are very reasonable. I have been in several times since they opened and never had a bad experience.

Since Westside Bait & Tackle and The Bait Barn closed Indy really needs a good quality bait shop, Indy Bait & Tackle fills that void nicely.

I am updating my review from 3 years ago. This is still the best bait shop in Indy. They were new and just starting out a few years ago. They have not slacked off or slowed down. The employees are nice and courteous and helpful. Westside bait and tackle was an Indy institution and Indy Bait & Tackle is becoming one. I go out early to avoid the heat of the day and since they open at 6am I always stop in there first. Very disappointed with the business etiquette. I specifically call July 5th to inquire to their hours and was told they would be open till 6pm. As I had to work till 5 and promised to take the kiddies fishing I thought this would be perfect. I pulled up to the door at 5:25 and business is all ready closed, even though the signs says holiday hours would be 6pm comfirming what the employee told me. I travel High School Road pretty frequently and I just happened to notice the sign and wanted to investigate. My wife and I stopped in and I found a good selection of fishing baits both live and artificial. And the prices are very competitive on everything I've looked at and can compare to Walmart and other bait shops.
