El Rodeo 5 — Restaurant in Speedway

We have been going to this particular El Rodeo for as long as it has been open. Even during COVID we got take out. This past Friday July 16, 2021 we had the worst service we have ever had there. It is one certain guy who we all have had issues with at different times. We waited over 20 minutes before anyone showed up to our table but other tables were getting waited on. We had to ask 4-5 times for chips and salsa. He took our drink orders. Only brought for the ones not drinking alcohol. We were sitting in the bar too. My husband spoke to him about us waiting so long and no chips and salsa. He handed him a note that read "Be Patient" "Be Kind". That is fine we were trying to do this but when you don't get waited on and everyone else does and you can't get chips and salsa then those things go out the window. Then he told us all that he was not even our waiter. He was just trying to help. He then disappeared and he never brought us anything. A young and new girl showed up and got the rest of our beverages, took our order, and brought us chips and salsa. She did a good job and was nice. We will go back but we hope he is not our waiter. We can all only hope they find better help than this guy. This was a group of 6 people too. Five of us have been going there a long time. The other person was from out of town. Rating is for the service only. The food is actually quite good, especially considering the low prices. The typical wait staff is good.

There is one, however, whom is beyond terrible and has a horrible attitude. Slim guy, not good posture, late 30s, slightly curly hair. This guy will make several trips back and forth - even looking around in the dining - before ever refilling your chips or water. The last visit? He was simultaneously ignoring both my table and another group.

A request for more chips was met with a shrug, a sigh and an about face back into the kitchen. He then came out FIVE ADDITIONAL TIMES over a 12 minute period with not refill until I was able to catch his attention again and hold up the empty chip container.

His response? A hateful, "It be a minute. You get it when I can!" Another five minutes passed before he brought chips out with our food. Our water? He never refilled it and we finished the last of the meal with no beverage.

Upon leaving, I found the bartender (manager) and had him take a 50% tip in cash from me to be delivered to the cook... the food was good. But NOTHING was left for this waiter. I never do this but his attitude was outrageous!

I will go back - we go nearly weekly. I will NOT deal with this waiter again though and will walk out if forced to endure his attitude and poor service ever again. We will see...

Edit- next visit was double water and double chips. Same waiter. Left a 30% tip....

RUDE !!! Do you have to be a Hispanic to be greeted ?!

TERRIBLE SERVICE !! This place is trash !! I went there to eat tonight, soon as I walked in the host/wait looked at me like I was crazy stood there and continued fiddling with whatever he was doing, walked right past me and went to a table to continue to wait and make conversation with another table.

I was left standing there for about 10 minutes, while a couple came in AFTER me were sat immediately.

It was ironic to me that THEY WERE HISPANIC

When I was finally seated I was given a nasty menu with old food and salsa all over it, gross ! Why give someone a menu that hasn’t been clean. That was sent back and the waitress came back with salsa and chips. Didn’t say anything to me.

Needless to say I just got up and walked out !! Not sure how places with HORRIBLE CUSTOMER service like this is still running. Very rude, UNCLEAN and all together not a good spot to eat at.
