I have a simple question. It may seem rhetorical, but I really want an answer. Preferably from a Kroger executive. Why is Kroger so bad at what they do? I fear I know the answer. But I want someone to admit that they are just bad at being a store. Because every week shopping causes me huge amounts of anxiety. I’ve had panic attacks thinking about having to shop with Kroger. And, the really sad part is I keep shopping with them because they somehow manage to be just slightly better than anyone else in my area. Things were bad before the pandemic. After, they were positively awful. Compared to every other store Kroger took weeks to months longer, now going on years, to recover. I can still go to my local Kroger and find empty shelves. This year I was diagnosed with cancer. I’m the only one who can shop for my household. I thought that Kroger’s pick-up service would be a godsend. Instead, it’s just more frustration. So many regular items I know they have in the store, but unavailable for pick-up. Why? Why even offer this service if you can’t handle it? Now I am forced to shop, expose my weakened immune system, spend what little precious energy I have just to get groceries. Of course, we know why Kroger is so bad at what they do. Because they don’t care about their stores, their employees, or their customers. They do not invest in service. They give to their shareholders. One billion dollars in stock buy backs. That’s what is important to Kroger. Not their community. Not their customers. And they just keep jacking up prices while shoveling money at their investors. How long do you really think this can go on before people...

Worst experience ever if I can give a zero that would be my rating they are very racist they don’t like African Americans I was profiled from the cashier when I first got to the line she ask me what limit was I wanting to stop at I was so confuse ms like limit so your insinuating I use food stamps because I’m black so the new lady dropped the pickles it wasn’t her fault so they voided out the item and we had two items to replace with the pickles so she literally said we have to ring two items up separately that replaces the items she insisted we ring up the orders separately like we were lying about what we had to pay for how can we steal anything if we at the register she just kept making insulting comments the manager comes and void the pickles so the manager asked what’s going on we just explained to her and she just walked off got security and we didn’t do anything so instantly I ask why did you go get him so you went to get a black security guard to handle black problems she is very racist we haven’t did anything we explained the situation nice and quietly so she was being very racist so next thing you know she looks at me in my Face and Say IM NOT FROM THE GHETTO she made me sooooo mad I let so much anger out this store is racist the store leader is black and he’s really nice I’m telling you this is the worst racist store 😡I called corporate as well I will not...

Usually we have a fairly good experience, but I recommend NOT going on the night before the sale changes, as they are out of many of the sales items. To make it even more fun, the list you created online has removed the prices, but still shows it's on sale...so you either play the guessing game (because good luck finding an old flyer, which technically is still good), or you have to actually look back at the ad online, scrolling thru everything. Most inconvenient and quite frustrating. I guess I'll just solve that problem by not going on the last day of the sale...but sometimes you don't have a choice. Then, the poor woman up front was by herself between a full register and the self-checkouts, because someone called off I guess. This poor lady was working off the clock to help the cashier bag our groceries because we had so many. If I had cash, I would have tipped her. She didn't have to do that. Where was management? No backups for these situations? I'll keep coming because Kroger is so close, and usually everyone does a good job, but I'll just try to adjust the time/day I come in. And why must you change the store...

I am writing to share a disappointing experience at this West Southport Road location in Indianapolis. Tonight, at 10:54 pm, we approached the store, only to be denied entry by your staff members despite it being well before the advertised closing time of 11 pm. We were met with resistance from an employee named Cristina, followed by another named Darlene, both of whom declined to allow us inside, even though it was evident that the store was still open. We understand the importance of adhering to closing times, but we were merely in need of a quick item and felt unjustly turned away. We hope that you can address this matter and ensure that such incidents do not reoccur in the future. Thank you for your attention to this issue.

I'm giving a one-star rating because ever since they took away some of the self-checkouts and replaced them with the larger ones, there has always been a long line and wait. All the lines are backed up, and I counted more than 37 people waiting in line, which extended into the other aisles. Moreover, they only have one person on staff running back and forth trying to help everyone. She was extremely helpful, and it's not her fault, but now this Kroger is extremely slow, and they made a terrible decision by removing the other scanners.
