I have a simple question. It may seem rhetorical, but I really want an answer. Preferably from a Kroger executive. Why is Kroger so bad at what they do? I fear I know the answer. But I want someone to admit that they are just bad at being a store. Because every week shopping causes me huge amounts of anxiety. I’ve had panic attacks thinking about having to shop with Kroger. And, the really sad part is I keep shopping with them because they somehow manage to be just slightly better than anyone else in my area. Things were bad before the pandemic. After, they were positively awful. Compared to every other store Kroger took weeks to months longer, now going on years, to recover. I can still go to my local Kroger and find empty shelves. This year I was diagnosed with cancer. I’m the only one who can shop for my household. I thought that Kroger’s pick-up service would be a godsend. Instead, it’s just more frustration. So many regular items I know they have in the store, but unavailable for pick-up. Why? Why even offer this service if you can’t handle it? Now I am forced to shop, expose my weakened immune system, spend what little precious energy I have just to get groceries. Of course, we know why Kroger is so bad at what they do. Because they don’t care about their stores, their employees, or their customers. They do not invest in service. They give to their shareholders. One billion dollars in stock buy backs. That’s what is important to Kroger. Not their community. Not their customers. And they just keep jacking up prices while shoveling money at their investors. How long do you really think this can go on before people...

Read moreUsually we have a fairly good experience, but I recommend NOT going on the night before the sale changes, as they are out of many of the sales items. To make it even more fun, the list you created online has removed the prices, but still shows it's on sale...so you either play the guessing game (because good luck finding an old flyer, which technically is still good), or you have to actually look back at the ad online, scrolling thru everything. Most inconvenient and quite frustrating. I guess I'll just solve that problem by not going on the last day of the sale...but sometimes you don't have a choice. Then, the poor woman up front was by herself between a full register and the self-checkouts, because someone called off I guess. This poor lady was working off the clock to help the cashier bag our groceries because we had so many. If I had cash, I would have tipped her. She didn't have to do that. Where was management? No backups for these situations? I'll keep coming because Kroger is so close, and usually everyone does a good job, but I'll just try to adjust the time/day I come in. And why must you change the store...
