Oh man, where have I been?! The first time I dined at Fiesta Ranchera was in my high school days. I recently had it again nearly 20 years later. How can I have overlooked this South side gem for so long?!
On a little strip mall located SW Indy lies this delicious eatery. Inside is a nice, clean modern style layout with some dashes of art. The images of Hispanic men in traditional outfits on horseback are nice standouts. The booths have a classy, dark brown color with comfy back padding.
My server was very sweet and enthusiastic, and the other staff was very upbeat as well. I noticed very friendly interactions with other customers, likely regulars. A couple times I heard a staff person singing loud & proud in Spanish from the kitchen or somewhere nearby!
The fajita chicken burrito was my selection during my recent stop in. A great, zesty blend of tender, well seasoned chicken with grilled peppers and onions, wrapped in a soft shell topped with queso sauce.
One small complaint is the menu layout. It seems to have a wide array of selections. But most items are noted on a long list that feels cluttered and a bit hard to read.
Although the menu could perhaps be more organized, a delicious meal and outstanding service far outweigh this little setback. An excellent Mexican restaurant very well...
Read moreDelicious food, very prompt service, family friendly & inviting atmosphere. This has been our go to Mexican place since we first discovered it in 2007. The Texas margaritas are the best in town & you will not find better homemade fresh salsa anywhere in Indy! It changes a little depending upon who makes it that day, some days are spicier than others, but always a crowd pleaser. Cannot recommend this place enough!
Also great for take out, their food is hot & fresh and ready very quickly after you order, unless they’re super busy. They’re to go orders of chips & salsa, and queso, are always what we bring to parties & family get togethers. Can’t go wrong!
I absolutely love their beans. Smooth & creamy, with a little bit of cheese on top. I’m not a rice person, but my husband & best friend are & they both rave about their rice. It’s not colored & artificially flavored like some around town, it’s just good rice, with flavor! A perfect accomplishment to any Mexican dish. Mix the rice with queso & beans for an incredibly delicious meal any child will eat, and the leftovers are just as good!
There isn’t much parking just for the restaurant, butt the local businesses close at 5 (dentist office & insurance), so you can park there, or in the liquor store overflow. There’s plenty of spots to park, just...
Read moreMy family and I have been going there for quite a few years. My son has autism and they are very friendly and they always include him in their conversations. Which I appreciate so much they have an employee that is not very kind to me. About a year ago, he made a comment about the food that I had ordered and he said boy you must’ve been really hungry! I came home and told my daughter that he was making fun of me and calling me fat. I talked to the Waiter about this the next time I was in And yesterday when my son and I were eating at Fiesta he came up and took my plate. He was our waiter. He did not ask. He took my plate and ask if I wanted dessert. And all the years that we went to Fiesta . I never got dessert . He was absolutely trying to hurt my feelings and he did. I’m sorry and I’ve told my son that we won’t go back there anymore. I explained that they were not nice to me. The Waiter with the silver teeth right in the front of his mouth . He is the only one that I have had trouble with and I don’t want to go there again....
